I happened to find this application in www.download.com It is a free application. It is easy to use. Nothing to configure. It has an ability to become transculent. Hence it does not interfere much with your work and at the same time, you can see how much you are downloading. It will be great for users with download and upload limits.

NOTE::::::::::

The program does require an activation code. But it is totally free to get. I guess the programmers put it in to get donations so that they can continue to make such free programs.

I found a much better application than bandwidth monitor:

It stores logs of your downloads as well. It has many more superb features and is much more handy.

I found this app as well, but I do not know how much better it is. It can connect directly toyour ISP account and can tell you instantly how much has been uploaded or downloaded.

It's free though. Someone please tell me how this application is :) Seems fine when I tried it...
