Hmm it looks like String has been hard at work here  :)

I've been working for a while on the KM's Rabbit client with the goal
of add some bit...Enjoy it if you like the changes:
(Wow a changeLog !!)

1) MxSock.dll is no more required
2) The .exe now is only about 180k instead of 600k (due to MFC library)
3) Win XP theme is supported now
4) A REAL tab control... like that in FireFox
5) A splitter bar beetwen chat view e user list so you can resize it..
6) Added about box dialog
7) Some bitmap , few changes you will not notice

The source code is added.

That's all for now , bye bye

Cheers String, and thanks of course to KM for making it open source in the first place  8)

I haven't fixed those problems (the major ones...).
I didn't know that rabbit is not so "stable", but i have noticed it now
while working on it.   Rabbit is Evil !
Though I think it deserves some attention (i mean the version by KM) cause many people love Rabbit and use it

P.S
The version posted above does not work for you because of the file .manifest or comctrl 6.0 or stuff like that.. Damn it !!!

But i have posted around a new version that should work now (somehow..)

the reason i never bothered with it is because i didn't think many people use it... and it does need a sustantial overhaul to get it to anything decent, so much of an overhaul that rewriting it would only be a little bit more effort, heh

It was a good effort, cheers to that ;-) It has it's pros and cons.

Of course, you had to juggle some servers also and really... I think Bender pretty much had a monopoly in the chat client department for those that could handle RoboMX.

Best stick to that WCS of yours. And then if you have time... eh... world domination? ... Nah. :P

rabbit was just an experiment, more in to making a GUI than anything (first proper program with one i did... lol) but some of the features are good, just thrown together lazily :-)

no, for others to see the good ideas, and start implimenting them in other programs, but that didn't work, the most useful of the features never made it in to other clients...

I'm back...
I've added a bit to the rabbit SE... just look and find out yourself
what is new ! I hope you will enjoy but this is only a test (yet).
I not sure I will keep working on it.

For those who are too lazy to look, String has added a menu bar for translation to the client  :D

i just had a look (i had to port it back to MFC 4.2 to get it to work on my systems that dont have visual studio .NET installed, there was a reason i compiled MFC in to it rather than expecting everyone to have it all installed :-P)

one small thing, the file menu, spot the thing that could use changing :-)

also it looks like those buttons might be designed for the XP "teletubbies" theme, they look a bit out of place under the normal windows theme :?

other than that... not too bad, although i'm not sure what is up with the bar at the top of chat windows for showing the topic :-)

MFC42.dll is in almost  every pc on the Earth...at least in those ruuning win98
or better . Though nobody seems to have MFC71.dll ...
It's time to update. Maybe in the forthcoming M$ Vista...

I don't know what is wrong with the Topic bar, but surely  it has a strange    behaviour, showing a cursor in a wrong place.
I think it's due to the transparent background, but i will subclass it...

was wondering whether the rabbit bot or the wsc can stop a certain tag entering or autokicking it once entered

I love rabbit. but I use Mac OS X.. and I'm pretty sure I couldn't use this update if uses some weird obscure DLL.. crossover surely doesn't support it :x

Hmm, the ":"x" emote doesn't seem so angry looking in text form xD
