Found one more  :)

File error (5) The file you are trying to download is not available because someone has moved or deleted  it during your download .

Thats not the exact error message but it is what it means.

""File error (5) The file you are trying to download is not available because someone has moved or deleted  it during your download.""

How can you move, delete or rename a file that someone else is downloading. You get an error:
"You cannot remane or move this file. Some other program might be using it. Please shut the program and then try again."

I got this error while changing the name of a song file. I initially couldn't make out which program it might be. Then when I saw that song being uploaded, I realised that it was winmx that was causing the problem.

It might be moved, deleted or renamed while being queued though, resulting in that error message when the download is supposed to start ;)

I see the file error 5 message in my uploads when my networked pc is shut down while users are downloading a file shared via network... which in part answers Sam's query and why there isn't the 'access denied' error.

when my network storage goes down, winmx uploads failing is generally the least of my concerns as everything runs off of it :-S

One more to the list :)
File error 10.
comes up when the file is stored in a storage device and the device is disconnected while someone was downlaoding a file from the device.
It can be that you removed the cd on which there was a file someone was downloading (an example), or mabye your external hdd got disconnected.

My Solution: Reconnect the device and it should be fine. Or reinsert the CD.

Cheers :P

Could you help me solve the problem of File Error (3), please?
Here is the screen shot:

I selected MS PGothic as the default font type for Dynamic font, Normal font, but then
there are some unknown symbols in the name directory.
I have tried to configure the directory by accessing Transfer -> incoming files folder
But the problem still persists.

Please help if you could!

That symbol is ok
Make sure the folder exists and navigate to the folder and put that as the incoming folder...

Cheers :P

I have to select as 'manually download', otherwise the error of 'file error (3)...' would appear

file error 5 means file has been moved, deleted or unshared by the other user. Search for alternates

The problem is that the file turns blue, therefore I am on the que of another user with the file. Sometimes, the file start to dld, but after a while, the dld stops and the file info turns red and error 5 appears. Even if the file info is blue, when the dld starts the file info turns red and the  error 5 is stated.

I am pretty sure this was fixed in another thread.
