what kind of dedicated server? im not a company but i have a computer that will be dedicated to been my server on the way.. lol

I believe dedicated not only means a fast server, but one that wont freeze up, one that has a uninterrupted power supply, and a fast Gigabit connection or at least 100Mbit. But km is the knowledge person so lets wait for his reply to be sure.

a dedicated server is a server that is dedicated... as for specs that is irrelevant and entirely application dependent for if a server is suitable for a specific task

if a server is going to be dedicated to the task of serving a 1k page to 10 users a day then a 66MHz with 32MB RAM sitting on a 56k connection would be a perfectly suitable, however if you had 100 hits a second to a large php and mysql based forum then you'd probably need slightly better specs to deal with it... however both would be considered dedicated servers if they were dedicated to that task

Just to host a basic site and a few other bits like me room etc, i wanted a 100mb line but i got it now so it dont matter 1.8 gig 512 ram and 100mb line, fine for the small hosting i need and a little opertunity to offer cheap or maybe free webhosting to peeps. And as for this topic its like years old in winmxworlds topics from when i posted it lol

well shows what you know, i have it, its thier, lying in waiting for my home conenction to be on in the next 7-14 days. Then it will be all back on.

My room. My site, The independant cache, and a fair bit of webhosting to splash about to them that need it. I had it about 2 weeks. But im just redoing the room, the bot and stuff fora big switch on when i can monitor it 24 hours a day. Im not putting a server so all can see when i cant keep a eye on it.

Well i started work and have money to burn, someone has to invest in ya enjoyment, and a spare few bob is better spent on mx than crap i dont really need. whicj it will go on lol.
