problem with incomplete file loading and 3.54

I have yet to be able to use 3.54 - When I click on Load Incomplete, I get many (but not all) of my incompletes loaded showing the "Incomplete" tag in the name field.
This does not happen in the old winmx version.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also is there some reason to use 50 rather than 100 in the auto-q   setting?

yes i belive it does, simply means the file is incomplete.. so u dont get mixxed up i guess..

When the download finishes, the incomplete tag is removed and u  can wwatch your movie

Are you saying its ok to have some show the incomplete tag, while other do not show this?  And that those files will still match up and finish d/l?    Do other people see this issue and does it work ok for them?   It seems a bit odd that it does this on some incomplete s and not others and it makes reading the list cumbersome to say the least.

Does anyone know of a fix or do you just live with this annoyance?

its not ment to be anoying, the file that dont have this tag should be complete.. and yes perfectly normal

i am not sure you understand this - i am not talking about in the explorer folder - I am talking about in the main Winmx Downloads window - where the only files that show up are incomplete - in the old ver of winmx, you never see the "incomplete" part in the name - just the actual file name.  In 3.54 I have a mix of entries that appear with and without the incomplete... stuff.

Ahh.. hm.. sorry, if you mean, if you download  a file, and it dusnt start downloading, when you close winmx, they dont load up again.. 


this is normal also i would belive.. click "Load Incomplete"  Found in the transfers window

Nope u just dont understand for some reason.  I am an expert user - i know how to load incompletes - its when i do this, that i get the problem - my download list contains files with their actual file names - it does not edit out the winmx incomplete naming convention in the list - has ANYONE seen this problem - it has happened to me everytime i try 3.54.

Reinstall winmx and see if that helps. Changing the auto settings will enable you to enter longer queues.
If your's is at 50, then you will not enter a queue which has 70 people but will enter a queue with thirty people in it.
Setting it higher does find more sources, but you also endup clogging other people's queues

That does not help.  I have installed it multiple times with the same result.  I guess until someone has a clue on this i am stuck on 3.53.  Though i find it hard to believe no one else has seen this problem.

Do they enter in queues?
Do they ever go green?

Good Question - I really don't know, because as soon as I see the problem, I exit the program and go back to the older version.
I do have a lot of incompletes built up over the years.   I suspect that they won't work - just a guess. 
One item that might be interesting is on the old system when I start the program, there are a certain number of files already in the download list before I hit the load incompletes button.   Also there is a mix of napster files and winmx files.  What is strange is that no one else has seen this problem.  If there is a developer out there I could work with him to determine the problem.

I know what your describing although Ive never seen it before.  Basically your saying the file comes onto the screen listed as

__INCOMPLETE___Song Title - And track_HASH here.mp3  on your transfers screen?

Do you actually see the Hash number listed with them?
Are any of these possible old Napster files themselves ... (since its not something most of us have seen before)?
And Im with Sam on wanting to know if they find sources..or ever que also...

A while back and the flooding companies where adding this word to the file names.. and its the only time ive seen this show up in the transfers screen however the hashes obviously where not listed and it was not a true 'incomplete' .. just taged that way to make MX look for it or make it look real...

The developers of WinMX itself are not around, after Sept 05 they have not been heard from and we dont see that changing any times soon..

yes the full filename with hashes show up - and this happens on over half the files.. very annoying.

I will let it run tomorrow and let you know if it finds files.

I have a question along the same lines.  I think.  I have many files in my winmx/shared directory.  many are sitting at "0" blocks and other have various sizes depending base on how much of the file has successfully downloaded.  When I shut down WINMX for what ever reason and restart WINMX many of the files do not reappear in the down load screen.  Some files pop in automatically but others do not.  when I hit "load Incomplete" most pop back in but need to have the "AFS and AEQ" reset.  Some of the files after a time never seem to update and just remain the same size.  some never have started to download and the files sit there at 0 blocks.  Is there a limit to the number of times that WINMX will continue to try to download a file?  An why do some files load automatically when I restart WINMX and others do not?

On your transfers screen ,winmx will not have more than 50 incompletes.
There is no limit to the number of times an incomplete file will find sources

Also, did you install winmx from here?
If not then install winmx from the above link
As the files in question can be fakes if you do not use the winmxworld patch.
