The battle is warming up folks, with the Recording industry Cartel set to be in legal hot water if Limewire succeeds in its claims.

In Arista v. LimeWire, the RIAA's copyright case against LimeWire, in which LimeWire has interposed counterclaims against the record labels for antitrust violations and the RIAA has sought to dismiss the counterclaims, LimeWire has filed papers opposing the RIAA's motion:

I read through the submission from Limewire and it look solid enough to continue the case, the RIAA member companies lawyers are trying the usual mix of "fine points of law" and long streams of irrelevant pleadings to disrupt the case and ensure it wont see the light of day, they hope!

I for one hope to see the Cartel found liable and sued out of existence, its corrupt practices and anti competitive nature are an assualt on all honest consumers who only wish a fair deal.
