ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN WINMX NEEDS YOU

Right some will know ive been quietly organising setting stuff up to get winmxgroup advertsied and winmxworld.

My first priority was to get winmxgroup advertsied as thats where the downloads are held and their is a pretty obvious click here for help at the top that takes you too winmxworld. But if enough revenue can be raised id like to try get both advertsied 100% and any extra cash put into more caches.

So whats the plan.

1. I have set up a site      http://savewinmx.no-ip.org/SaveWinmx.html
Please go click links, and if you see somethin you like buy it, if not no harm sone they wont kill you.

2. Get winmx advertsied on other networks.
Recently we had a winmx advertsier that showed up telling host file users about winmxgroup, i know this can be done simply by downloading example limewire and adding winmxgroup into the names of recent files so they cant miss it. I know this is spam but who cares, if it brings a few users thats better than none,

3. Winmx posted on other forums.
This is what i started out doing when i joined winmxgroup quite a time ago now, (blimey thats flew by) but really its time to start it back up again now, we need to get out onto the other network fourms and just say something usefull in the help sectons while advertsing winmxgroup in your signatures. I know this doesnt sound very intresting but it makes it hard for admins to accuse you of spamming instead of just posting DER WINMX IS BACK DUDES and it getting deleted

4. I cant do this by myself.
I need some help. i can sit for hours posting on forums till im blue in the face and i can easily leave a few networks being spammed wid winmx advertsiements but if a few of you can help you will be making the word spread quicker.
I will need a small group and you will need to make a small txt file of what you have done i.e. what forum address's you have posted on so others can go back posting wid it in their signature, more users on one fourm with winmx in their signature, You get the jist,

So please if you can, send me a pm or reply here, ill get you my email address sent to you and we can get our heads down and get the ball rolling again, even if all you can do is post on one forum a week thats enough if 50 of ya come forward so everyone is welcome not just the usual faces newbs an all. Their is a job everyone of you can do.

p.s. An more suggestions even if you dont want to get involved.

a page there for the sole purpose of telling users to click links will have the ad revenue pulled instantly as soon as google find out what you're doing... which when you combine their random checks with the fact that anyone not wanting funding for advertising can go report it to them...

the best thing for users to do is to simply get the word out, posting on forums, telling friends, etc

Well i wrote the site solely to mention contribution, you mentioned this to me in testing so reworded the whole thing. I will change it again if you so wish its up and meant to have all of ya all imput. A site takes 20 minutes if that to change if you now what you are doing, any other suggestions on how to word it then. I could basicly make no mention of the ad's and use it as a faq site, but i have to rally peeps then. I shall redo it tonight so debate then...      A faq site??????

the best way to do things that do require money is via winmxgroup directly

what i had in mind was ads on the winmxgroup site, non-contextual of course (don't want scam ads), similar to what frontcode did, then the money raised from those ads is used first to fund the servers and domain names, then any left over at the end gets used to pay for advertising (there is also the option of taking donations on top which would give even more money for advertising etc, however i don't much like the idea and it would more than likely be people asking if they want to donate and being given info, rather than a donate button somewhere public)

unfortunately it's not currently viable though as i can't handle the money atm, and to be honest i wouldn't trust anyone else with it

Ok so what do we have planned then, add the winmx tag to files and ask folks to share 100 more files each, these simple steps alone could increase the satisfaction factor for users as well as gaining great publcity for the network, I dont want to suggest any more methods openly here so when your ready with whatever your plans are Tiny contact me and I,ll see what I can do to help you and gather the troops for the job, as you say its not exciting work but its something we need to take care of and for that reason alone is important to us all.

well spotted josh, i also noticed this it just takes 3-4 hours for the adds to update, it was added quickly but im affraid they add them pretty much daily, i could show you the list i have of the amount of blocked websites it along the lines of about 30. buttanks again josh for you continued work in sabotaging everything,  you will find it was gone about 20 mins after you posted that.

an i would also like to note its not actually a scam site, its a programme to repair errors it doesnt actually say it will make it connect

the website is a good idea in theory but as km said it will soon be worked out by google and pulled especially if people are told to click adds to build up revenue .....besides as km said

i have been thinking on this and i don't know how viable it may be but at the risk of sounding stupid I'm gonna suggest it any way ..... myspace .....everyone and there dog seems to have one so why don't we come up with a standard add,link etc  and ask all the people who we know to add it to there myspace sites i say standardise it because rather than random adds people tend to go with familiarity and become more curious the more they see the same thing .........at least there is a potential of millions of people getting to see winmx is here & working who otherwise might not

it's only because most are either commercial organisations, or use web based caches (or equivalents) and have users running web caches there

winmx does require at least a couple of servers for caches, and getting people to donate servers is slightly harder than getting them to run something on their website... and to be honest having caches run by anyone who wants to is a bit of a security issue to say the least (which is why there is only 1 major network that actually does that, and it is easy to mess up if someone decides to do so...)

it shouldn't be an issue getting ad revenue from the winmxgroup homepage to cover the costs with some spare to pay for extra stuff (be it advertising or providing other community services, whatever is needed...), it's just that the money has to go to someone, who then pays for the stuff... and at the moment that can't be me (for non-winmx related reasons)

well I'm sorry i don't think the sole responsibility should fall to one person and one person only as this also has the potential as a recipe for disaster .... I'm not calling your own integrity into question what so ever but there is a multitude of reasons why this should not be so ......as you say

if it cant be you then it cant happen so any discussions about raising funds are null and void in the 1st place as everything winmx comes down to one person and one only

I'm sorry but whilst it is admirable and as i said I'm not calling anyones integrity into question isn't the above a even bigger security issue as no km would mean no winmx ?
as with option 3 above like he said he can say screw it and walk away which is not the first time i have read something along these lines on this site in the past
makes me think of the saying          "all your eggs in one basket"

whilst i am sure this will be met with angry comments i am only pointing out what is there for all to see on this site..... personally i think the work that km does is fantastic and worthy of much praise from everyone who uses winmx...... but on the flip side is it ideal that everthing rests at one persons door & other measures are not in place if god forbid something should change in the future ?

Listen, i have no wish to steal from winmx, ive been trying to get hold of quicks but i just got a promotion this week and ive been doing a full training week, back to normal on friday so will have lots of time, I will show you and quicks my banks tatments if it would make you feel better and i wanted to try get support for caches eventually. I want to do this with the full support of both winmxworld and winmxgroup. Im not out to rob from you and you can keep an eye on it as much as you want i wont withhold information from the site's admin,

But anyway its up too you, if you dont think this is acceptable then ill take it off and leave it. Im just trying to get tyhings rolling here and some money coming towards us. If you read the site now it doesnt tell anyone to click anything so is in no breach of anything.

 I have to agree with Hell on what he said .Km says he could use some help with paying his servers,and i think anyone can see he deserves some help.But now he says he cant handle the money? and a few days back he threatened us with his way or the hiway speech.That worries alot of people.

 We are talking about a ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN FOR WINMX im all for it but what can we say about mx that will make it stand out as a better p2p network than others? I only change programs if they are better or cheeper than the ones im useing.We can only say no fakes or flooded files or ddos atacks if they use the DLL.and any one can see from kms post about the splitting of the network if he gets pissed he can and will walk away his words not mine.All the people that posted on the splitting the network thread were trying to make mx better and to give us some thing to advertise that makes mx better than it was last year.Ive posted on other forums in the past about mx and gotten the same responce (Winmx is old dieing no updates , a war zone with the patches,fake files flooded fake files ddos atacks.What do we say to people that say that? Well your right but we are trying?

 Some of you may think we were for splitting the network just becouse we dont like some people thats not it at all its so we can offer some thing new so we can get new people to try mx and to come back to mx.Im all for a ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN but we have to have some thing to advertise other than the same old sh*t we had last year.If the same was going to work and bring in new people aqnd old people back we would have more people on the network now.We have some thing here with winmx that if done right could be a verry big thing a p2p ran by the people,but if we keep doing the same thing over and over we will loose more people.Say what you want but we are no where near to the number of users we once were.If what was being done was enough then we would be back up in users in 2 years dont you think?The two patchs has lost users over the wars and will contenue to and anyone that says it hasnt is just kidding themselves.

 We all want to see WinMX grow and become strong so dont take any thing said here as any thing but asking how do you think we can get the people back and not do any thing other than advertise the same old program thats lost users.

any advertising is a non starter as you will fall foul of grokster and as such simply open your self up to letigation from the cartel.................which is exactly why this website has no advertising at all................so you can forget generating revenue...........only way round that is to do it thru a back door were any revenue cant be linked to this website or its owners..........
this also explains why maggot boy vladd had others host his scam sites so if the cartel showed up like a coward that he is he could point the finger else where and pleed ignorance.........with friends like him who needs enemies...............
as for growing winmx not going to happin any time soon..........there are more flooders on this network then all others combined........the dll only filters fakes when the results are returned to your computer the bandwidth used in searching etc is still used up and wasted and this is only from known flooder ips.......there are still hundreds of flooders out there that dont appear on any block list..........for example nothing is done about japanese RIAA flooding out of bbtec/softbank...........most search results still return those fakes despite the dll...........there easy enough to spot 10/10 slots open but you instantly go to 100s in a que.........whois shows them as bbtec  sharing 3000 files etc  classic cartel ..............dont get me wrong the dll is a great tool and without it most users would get zero files.............just dont be nieve in thinking it stops everything as it doesnt...........
for now the powers that be have decided that splitting the network isnt a good thing...........cant say as i disagree more.........as removing the cartel would be the best avenue for winmx long term...............who cares if it only has a few thousand users...........least it would be clean.............and being clean is the best way to get users...............the other side is of course that pie will be gone, and thats got to be a good thing....................as its a weak argument that pie contribute anything to this network................but all this is irevelant as the decision has been made.....................
just have to live with the fakes the udp doss attacks and denial of service...........for now.......................

advertising... Hell On Earth did say (without looking at his actual words) why not have a universal icon or a small picture that we can all show on MYSPACE as alot of us have them, it can have a clickable  link so people will see the same thing all over the place.

what a wonderful day im having,

1, today is the funeral of my mother, and im not there because its a 14hr travelling day to get there and back without the wake/party after, and its not cheep travel

2, my forum  the great pc help desk has been deleted by the providers because i have breached terms of service showing links etc for P2P sites (including WinMX & Torrents)

so as you can see 3/4 of my forum was dedicated to winmx & metis as well as info on fxs and other bots, clients etc is now gone.

thats some of our advertising shot in the foot, making me even more depressed than i was.

Well, im not going to give up easily, ive created a new PC Help Desk with another provider, theres no adds, no google banners, no picking up on triggers and showing payWinMX, its got a cool new look and it just hatched 2 days ago, so im feeding the hungry little forum.

so the fight continues, and yes im promoting WinMXGroup & WinMXWorld
i intend to fill it with all the metis scripts i had before as most of them are saved in my shared, the other info was lost because the original providers didnt allow us to have back-ups, i know why now, as i see alot of people suddenly had their forums closed as well without warning.

so if you have, or know someone that has a forum with www.sebb providers, change to a new one very soon, as they are closing alot of forums on a daily basis.
