anyway, your timming out problem can be any number of things, your port settings, are the ports forwarded correctly if you are on a router?
is your firewall allowing full access to WinMX,,
then there is the other person's ports or firewall settings, we don't have information needed,
is ut just movies or some users, or is it all downloads & users?
just a few users could be the other user's settings, all users & any file could be your settings,
if you want to pop into the WinMX help room, im sure there is someone around can test uplloads & downloads with you
