to be perfectly honest it's quite simple, if i make an announcement and people go start reading the announcement, then start asking stupid shit that's explained below, it doesn't take many people asking the same 50 questions to start getting extremely fucking annoying

the simple fact is, if you can't be bothered to read the fucking announcement to figure out what a feature does, don't use the damn feature, clearly you can't be bothered enough - wasting my time asking me to repeat what is already written there again serves no purpose at all, all it does is waste time when it would have been quicker for you to have read the announcement in the first place

now if someone is asking about something they don't know that's one thing, but if someone reads about something, then decides to waste everyones time asking everyone to tell them about it when they should have just read it properly in the first place, yes i'm going to fucking kick them, because they aren't trying to get answers (if they were they would have read the answers given) they are just deliberately trying to waste peoples time and piss people off - and if anyone else thinks it's fine to come in to the room just to piss me off and waste my time, you wait and see how long the kickban command takes

I'm not afraid to kickban people, rooms that are turn to shit pretty damn quickly - it has happened time and time again to just about every help room - and winmxworld is actually not far off of it, it's the only decent help room left and it's not far off of descending in to shit, unfortunately winmxworld is staying very close to the edge because of the fact that I don't have sole control so can't sort things out and a lot of things going wrong are simply being ignored, or worse "so what? it's nice and friendly to allow that"... who gives a shit about being friendly to 1 person if it means the entire room turning to shit? I'd rather kickban 1 person than lose 50 users who are fed up with it, tough shit what that 1 user thinks and how happy they are about it, i don't give a damn

and if you want to doubt that, try checking out my track record with help rooms, 100% success rate, at every single point in time I have been associated with the best run help room on winmx, and if you think that's a coincidence or it's just me following along, one of those I built up from nothing, several times...

Whilst I cant enjoin with you in claiming the chat room is "near the edge of turning to s**t" KM, can I point out your the one currently hosting it and have made no mention of any concerns to anyone else in the room about standards there, your comments would be better off in the moderators section where discussion and remedial action can be undertaken if there are valid issues.

Nobby can I be blunt and ask you to crawl back to your petty hate mongering elsewhere and not bother us again with your cretinous musings, most of the posters here are more than aware of the difference between a room that sports the name of one of those who sought to cash in on the users and where verbal abuse and threats are rife, as opposed a real help room where folks are listened to and helped by folks commited to helping their fellow users, not something you or your cronies are famous for.

Nobby is rather lucky we do not delete his posts and try to hide things as he did on a forum he helped operated where he deleted users accounts and the posts of  those who dared to question why pie should be allowed to damage the network, this then is the hypocrite who asks for his own rantings to be uncensored as they are here, it would be more helpful to all users if he practiced what he preaches, of course visitors to the forum Nobby controls at are told bluntly, "winmxworld supporters posts will be deleted", he is more than lucky we are not of the same mentality of himself.

It's nothing against the room itself, however it is a fact

over the years a decent help room turns up, it becomes popular, the let's say quality of people changes, it becomes less helpful and crap, and eventually it dies completely

in fact the only one that I can think of that actually never became crap was TTS, i am of course not counting the users who formed a new room as being a continuation of the room as it plainly was not... but that was a good help room, it hit its peak (btw, that's actually where I got my username from) and was closed down before it had a chance to turn to crap

the various issues in the winmxworld room have been brought up several times, normally within the private discussions outside of winmxworld, they have become major issues on several occasions including multiple resignations (my own included)... although all basically retracted eventually you can't claim that things were never mentioned when people have kicked up a fuss and left over them, however long it may have been for

to be perfectly honest the forum is actually quite good, there was a bit of an issue with one of the admins but that was mentioned to him and sorted out, and the quality of the help here is actually extremely high, and i'm not just saying that because i'm here for the stuff nobody else knows the top few experts in each area of winmx are all here dealing with users problems, and for non-winmx stuff we're not really lacking knowledge, and there are very few threads like this that are completely useless to users (even when knobby was trying to stir as much shit as possible he never got more than a couple of threads going... they were still swamped by the threads for help)

however as for the room...

well, actually, you're the wrong person to talk to about that, when did you last spend any time in there again?

I think we should distinguish here between how we handle strangers looking for help and people we know.

I think we can expect forum members to read announcements and to be well informed before they go asking people in the help room and start wasting people's time.
I'm pretty sure the reaction would have been different if a newbie would've asked the same question.

This thread merely shows that we're all human and maybe not in top form every day.

I would also like to point out one thing that forum readers may not know, that is that, this is not the first time James has gotten aggravated with KM.  There have been other times when James was seeking help and felt it unsatisfactory or didn't understand something or entered into some debate with KM about things.  There is history here that folks not in the room on a daily basis wouldn't be aware of.

So Nylly's point is very true..

As for the room, there are always ways to improve things in even the best help rooms and ours is no exception to that.  Its a dynamic place and the folks that are there helping try very hard, its my opinion that some of the most knowledgeable folks on MX are stationed in that room and do a fantastic job considering we are all human, aren't paid, and do this out of love of MX and the community, and most have rooms of their own to manage. 

I'm always open to any suggestions however, to make it a better place and if anyone has anything constructive to add to this thread I'd like that to become the focus of this..

apparently he read the announcement multiple times and didn't see the bit about that setting, after being told it was there i'm guessing he did a find on the page and his browser told him it wasn't there? although i mean finding references to DNS is hard to do, it's not like even quickly skimming over it will be easy to find DNS in caps in the middle of lower case text...
