ive just recently aquired a wirless internet connection and everything seems to work ok, however, my winmx will connect to a server, but wont upload any searches and most importantly wont load the chat room listings, if anyone can help, thankyou so much in advance....

you will need to configure the new wireless router to forward ports for winmx
visit www.portforward.com look up the new wireless modem/router on the routers page, click it & then click winmx on the programs list to bring up detailed instructions

thankyou bearded blunder, but that program requests me to buy it for around 25 pounds, im sure theres an easier and much cheaper way to rectify this problem...your a diamond nevertheless....anyone else have any other suggestions?thanks again in advance

There is an Ad placed on the top of that site for 'PConfig'.. it is just that an ad for a program that automatically forwards ports. This is not what we are asking you to get, its not free and its annoying they way they have it placed on the site but they do offer all these guides for free and they have to make a living somehow....

however.. if you click the link near the left top that says Port Forwarding (also on this line at the top you see Port Triggering, Firewalling, wireless networking etc.. just to make sure your clicking the right spot) you will see many routers/modems listed and all you need to do is find your brand, then model and click on it. You will then see a list of programs you may want to forward, find WinMX on the list and click this. Now you will see a FREE guide with pictures on how to manually forward your ports.

Id get you a direct link but am unsure what model and brand your looking for.

i will try that then!you guys are so brill, i have to say, thankyou for all the help youve already given me, and ill be sure to spread the news on how productive this forum is!i havent a clue what brand or model it is either, hahaha...dont think i deserve a PC!, its an Orange Livebox-4738
