At this point of time, there really is no difference between the patches.
Both do the same thing, modify the hosts files to get a wroking winmx.

Cheers :P
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)

on the contary there is a significant difference between the patches
1 pie patch is the smallest and by a wide margin..............
2 pie does nothing about blocking fake files udp doss attacks or denial of service attacks launched by the RIAA and the cartel aimed at users and this network...........
3 the patch from this website is the only patch that blocks the cartels fakes and attacks and is clearly the choice of this network..........for the obvious reasons..............

At hsi point, the winmxworld patch is superior to the mxpie patch. It blocks flooders and creates fake free files

march, I'd recommend that you uninstall the mxpie patch and install the winxmworld one instead.

Cheers :P

Just so your aware of how to tell the difference between patches you need only look to the top left corner of your WinMX, the message there will indicate which sites it is.

Yeh I guess it should be - thing is I recently tried the mxpie patch, then uninstalled it, then did a clean install with the mxworld multi installer, but for some reason ive still got the mxpie.com link in the top left corner. i think the mxworld patch is def installed tho.

Hi Valz,

Often times the hosts file is protected for some reason and that prevents the update bar entry from being added correctly and the pie entries from being removed completely.  The Dll patch will work and be primarily used if its located in the winmx folder.  You can double check this by looking in the folder WinMX is installed to you should see a file named    OLEDLG.DLL and its date should be July 12, 2007.

Often programs like spybot search & destroy running, or other system file protection programs will protect your hosts file from changes.  If you have any of these running turn them off and reinstall and it should take care of this for you..

Post back and let us know how things go..

The only real difference between yours of that date and the one dated July 12 is the splash screen was changed giving WinMX Group its rightful credit for creating the original dll file.

So basically not really.. it functions the same

There is a significant difference between the patches that hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet:

The WinMX World patch is currently the ONLY patch that supports everyone's rights to FREE SPEECH!

The PIE team has a secret block list of users that they deny access to the network, at the peer cache level. which prevents these users from hosting a room, chatting, sharing files, or downloading while using the PIE patch.

They won't block the real enemies. Instead they let the **AA's ruin the network for everyone and block the users they disagree with and don't like.

Say 'no' to oppressive tyranny & control and toss that moldy PIE in the trash where it belongs. It is way past its expiration date and likely to make anybody with at least half a conscience, sick.
