Why are lots of people mean on WinMX ? Because there are lots of people that will not let me download from them . But I let everyone download from me but they will not let me download from them .

sorry to let you know this brian but its the same the world over & unless you walk arround with rose coloured glasses you must have noticed this at some point because all the people on winmx happen to come from that same world (well most at least) :mrgreen:

I have been trying to download from him/her for about forever . Here is there user name on WinMX NotASnottyChatroomLurker449_41554

But I think they have me on ignore . If they ignore me does it mean that I can not download from them ? Because they have some videos that I would like to download from them . But they will not let me .

Brain,

What Hell means is that there are good ppl and bad ppl all over the world, luckly like in the real world WinMX has mostly good ppl. There are many reasons why your downloads from a particular induvidual may not work.

His ISP is throttling all his speeds.
Neither of you have ports set up.
At some point you may have triggered his Upload Manager like MxMonitor and be on his ignore list.
He may have placed you on his ignore list for some other reason.

The first thing I would do is to message the person. See if you can ask them if you have upset them for something and explain the situation. If you cant get a message through.. find another user that can search for those files your looking for and get them, then you can get them from them. Like a firend in a chat room for example.

Just dont assume that they are some rotten greedy bastid.. or that all WinMX users are over one incident..

They are ignoring me I can not message them . I did try to message them but they have me on ignore

Then find someone you know .. from a chat room or somewhere and have them try to get the files. Then share them and let you get them from the friend.

I'm not sure if anyone I know that does use WinMX . And I do not go to the chat rooms that much on WinMX

By making use of the chat rooms Brian, you will find that more and more people will be willing to share with you, its also a great way to find other people who are interested in the same sort of material you are looking for and have had no luck with, give it a go

By far, is all the cases i've had in such cases, this remedy works great :
In settings>queuing, set the max downlaods per user to 1
Some people (Esp. those with many videos in their shares) tend to treat any person queuing up for more than one file as a queue hogger and consequenttly earn a place in the ignore list.

After doing what I said, then make a minor change in your name and then try to download from him again.

It also wouldn't hurt to have a video or two in your folder to trade with. When i started in 2000 if you wanted songs you had to have a few to start on and same with videos. With youtube and youtube downloader it's easy to get some to start with nowdays. Peace!
