Timed out waiting for incoming and outgoing connection.

Hi, Ran Winmx successfully until closedown. Recently purchased  Vista PC. Deleted my old Winmx as it wasn't working. Reinstalled 9 July patch and Winmx 3.54 beta. I get the green connected light, but 'Patch Operational' that used to show does not, is this correct as I dont know who's watching. Also when I search and download and others try to upload from me, i get, 'waiting for incoming connection', which times out after a while on both download and upload. Since reinstalling I haven't got anything and nobody has got anything from me. Please help.

There are 2 problems gere which aren't related.. the update bar message relies on a hosts file emntry.. which can be an issue on vista.. the second is either firewall or router configuration.. please look for your router at www.portforward.com & follow instructions for winmx (before you protest MOST DSL modems and some cable modems ARE routers also)
