Hello Debie, I'm not entirely sure what you are asking there so I will give simple instructions on how to download music from MX. You take music from other users rather than specific countries, so if you require music specifically from Portugal you should ask your husband for names of artists/titles etc.
The easiest way to do it is to use the search button feature, type in the artist or song title you are looking for, make sure you request the preferred file type i.e. MP3.... this can be found by pressing the 4th button from the left under the artist field, once you have done this press the search button and wait for your search results to appear. WinMX will then connect you to users sharing that particular file. To take the music, right click on the file you require and download. You may need to wait in a queue, but if you send a message to the file owner asking for a start very often they will jump you to the top of their queue. Tip: It is good practise to share music if you are taking music.
