I have always had this problem with WinMx. Mp3s download great, fast and I always find the ones I want. but video, pictures, apps etc. will not download. If I do a search for them show up and when I click to download them it shows up in my transfer window, but either turns blue or red and does nothing for hours on end? What's going on?

Its a queuing system look for the files you want with the lowest numbers in there queues the ones that go red are either timed out or perhaps using a monitor and ignoring you for whatever reason (perhaps ypu are not shareing or low number of files in which case a lot of ppl will cut you off)

Its pot luck at times if you get a start or not depending on the amount of ppl in someones queue the ones that turn blue means that you are on these ppls queues and will have to wait to be started it will say what number you are under where it says status at the top it can take hours or even days sometimes this is the nature of winmx (searching and finding the best chances of a start etc.

Try queuing up for more than one of the same file then when one starts cancell the others this way you gain more chance of getting what you want

Videos, movies, and gmes are generally large and in good demand, and take lots of time to download. Hence you usually need to wait in queue for them to download....

I wait for a while and they never start to download. They just either sit in the blue for a while or go red. I've tried downloading just one of a file or multiply of the same thing. Nothing ever downloads except songs.

if they go blue then you are in there q and need to have some patience the only other thing you can do is msg the ppl you are in the q of and ask to trade sorry there is no quick fix for this as you are recieving d/loads so there is no problem there
are you shareing files ? if not ppl could be cutting you off on purpose or using monitor of something simular to cut you off but by recieving music d/loads i doubt this is the case
try going into your settings(at the top) chose tab search and check the default d/load peramiters these are best set to auto find sources 10 min & auto enter q 100 if this is not so then change to these settings
