sygate firewall ecountered big problem

Hi all,
I am using Win XP SP2 Pro.
When I turned on my PC this afternoon, an error concerning my sygate firewall popped up: Sygate Agent Firewall encountered problem and has to be closed now.
And then another error popped up with this message concerning drwtsn32.exe .

I have tried to reinstall Sygate firewall for more than three times, still the problem persists.

This post is in the wrong place, and I suggest you try a new firewall. I myself, was never a big fan of Sygate. Comodo is good free firewall, may want to try it out.

id chck to see if windows firewall has activated by itelf on a update, if you are using XP. other than that a full virus scan, i use sygate and have never come accross this problem

i never had no probs with sygate....... tiny is correct though windows firewall does tend to kick in randomly at times & cause problems due to conflict so worth a check

Can I suggest you run the system file checker and ensure those system files are ok Kwfine

The only suspicious entry in your hijack this log is the rundll32, this is called by many processes though so it may be nothing but it is often seen when in use by a virus or trojan to run as a process guard.

Before you launch the above test its always a good idea to run the computers antivirus/anti spyware detection in safe mode, overnight (ensure the pc is disconnected from the net ) as it takes a while in most cases and will ensure nothing is lurking to undo your repairs.

Sometimes loading a different version of the sygate firewall can help fix this problem, as I have seen it before.
