Hi Greg, although i cant recommend pie in good faith that is not the issue here.  This will be a port problem or a firewall issue or could even be ISP interferring with them, since you say a few get through.

Since you've reinstalled and had so many changes my first suggestion is for you to remove WinMX from any firewalls you have installed (be sure to just configure them not turn them off as most will still block things) and then restart WinMX and let the firewall ask for permission again.  If it doesnt then add WinMX to it manually.

Second thing to be checkin is that if you ever had to make configurations in a router or dsl modem for ports and WinMX that its still set to the same IP address.  Many (not all) of these devises require you set up rules for a specific IP address and then find later that IP address has changed.

You can make sure by going to Start > Run > type in        cmd
Then click OK
Now in the black box type         ipconfig
Hit Enter

Write down the IP Address listed here, now go to the router pages and make sure they match for the rules youve made.  If not adjust it to match this new IP.

Post back and let us know how you get along.

Since I've never used this forum, don't know how to reply as they way it's written is kinda vague.
First; I have no firewall running, don't like them, cause of Ram loss. I have a box but no router, I think. Something changed, right after installing new pies, nothing on setup or system was changed, as it's been working a long time. Don't know if anything to be had with IP stuff, either, after this answer, let me know if you have different ideas. Tonight two peeps got thru and stayed, but could not get it to increase to 3 as that's my Q setting. Please, anyone out there, oh, what was that about not recomending pies?
Thanks greg

OK Greg,

FIrst I want you to make sure (if your using XP) that, that firewall is also off.  Sometimes system changes causes it to turn itself back on.  Go to Control Panel > Firewall Icon and disable it there.

If it is not on, then go to WinMX settings > Incoming TCP > set this to Unable for me.
Go to In/Out UDP > Set this to Unable for me and now restart WinMX and see if the uploads work.

If they do we can either leave it this way, its not hte best situation but it can work, or we can investigate further about ports being blocked causing it.

What I meant about the pie is this:  Its another form of connection, however it doesnt have built in protection from fake files in searches or flooders connecting to you when you are primary on WinMX, so for that reason we dont recommend it.

http://www.mxomega.com/Forum2/connection.php          There is a patch here that does protect you if you would like to use that instead.  Get the top one 'Set Up Patch Only and install.

If you still have questions post back, or let me know how any of this worked please.
