OK    First off lets forget i am a complete tard when it comes to computers>> I have tried everything i can think of to get back on win mx but i have not been able to connect  i run window 98se  dial-up 56k     and winmx 3.54 beta  can someone please help me???

This is what you need to do.

1. go here:
httpss://archive.winmxworld.com/KingMacro/WinMX%20Connection%20Fix/

2. Get the patch called 3.0

4. download that

5. run that installer

6. run the new version which you have currently downloaded over the top of that. This is called: 3.0mod. (if you havent got it please go here: http://www.mxomega.com/Forum2/connection.php)

7. unallow and than allow winmx through any firewalls

8. open

i dont know how to find the firewall if i do have one   i dont know if i do

ok it is telling me  it is unable to make outgoing tcp  connection

Ok,

As you are on dial-up make sure in your setting you  have unable to accept tcp and Udp settings.

That is in: settings and is called tcp and Udp settings

No tick the box that says Dont use socks

go to the next one and tick unable to TCP

go to the next one after that and tick unable to UDP

i dont have that page all i have is    retry connection test     or  i need to use socks proxy server to make outgoing connection

This is what I would like you to do.

Cancel were you are at the moment.

Please follow these steps.

1. Download winmx http://www.mxomega.com/Forum2/connection.php
The file you are after is WinMX Multi-Version Patch

2. Install this.

3. When you get up to proxys and socks. Please say Do not use proxy server.

4. The next step is Tcp. Please tick the box that says Unable to accept tcp settings

5. The next one is Udp. Please tick the box that says Unable to accept Udp settings

6. Follow the rest of the instructions as they say.

7. Close winmx

8. Run this file  httpss://archive.winmxworld.com/KingMacro/WinMX%20Connection%20Fix/

9. Now you have done. Go back here:
http://www.mxomega.com/Forum2/connection.php

10. Download this file  Patch for WinMX 3.54.

11. Run this file while winmx is off.

12. Open winmx. You should be running again.

I hope this has helped a little better than earlier.
