Limiting entry in to large queues?
« on: January 04, 2008, 07:46:16 pm »
I set the Auto Enter Queue limit to 20, yet I keep seeing sources in the queue with positions considerably above that limit.  Some in the 1,000's.

What's happening there?

Did I set something wrong, or are they pulling some sort of a scam?

If so, what is the scam?

How do I set the Auto Enter limit to only be added to queues of 20 or less?

There is a possibility these are false results coming through or of someone using some kind of workaround perhaps.
To change  your auto enter go to settings ( top of your winmx screen)  then click on the search tab then the auto find sources and auto enter queue can be set there for all your connections you might also find that restarting your winmx after might help.
what i would say though limiting the auto enter queue to 20 is kinda cutting your chances down rather a lot of getting the files you want... i know being in a long queue is a pain in the ass but its suprising how quick sometimes them queues come down and you get a start

please can you confirm you have the setup and patch from the site listed below loaded on your pc

 https://patch.winmxconex.com/

If not please get the setup for existing installs and try that.

also have u manually set the AEQ to downloads that were in your Queue BEFORE you changed to 20 in settings

Yes, I have the patch installed from the referenced source.

What and where is the other patch mentioned?

Yes, all of the searches in my queue were manually set to 20 Auto Enter and my Auto Enter setting is also set to 20, still, I just saw I was queued #4,112 in someones list.  Ridiculous.

What could be the work around they are using?  I assume they want to get into all searcher's queues so they can Browse their share files to see what is available.  They apparently have no interest in being a source for a download.

Is it possible they have a work around for getting beyond the shared files?

All the patches /versions are available at the one source sorry for the confusion
 https://patch.winmxconex.com/

Not sure whats going on with the queue results perhaps you could post a screenshot of this if you come across this again & a shot of a whois of the people concerned for closer examination

If this is a workaround i suspect its for their own greedy purposes so that people can enter there queue and download whilst they download freely from others.

Highly unlikely if they are using a workaround it will be just some kind of script kiddie prog to bypass uploading to ppl ...... you have no more to worry about than most everyone who connects to the net  as long as you have some kind of security you will be fine just4fun.
