The list of file rrors is given here
https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?topic=37.0.html

Basically this means that the fole/folder has been moved by the uploader too a different location and winmx cannot find that file any longer

I suggest that you take that particular file from someone else.

Does this problem occur for every file you download? or is it just for a fe wparticular pnes???

Cheers :P
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)

you must be using winmx only for opennap then. Does reinstallign winmx fix the problem?

Check if your incoming files directory exists.

Cheers :P

Yes Im a deadicated open nap user.........I have not yet tried reinstalling winmx yet.I cant find any logic in my problem which has me scratching my head.Ive mapped out the tcp and udp ports thru my netgear router and still no access.I wonder if this might be a Norton problem..Any thoughts

Try running with norton turned off this will give you a indication if this is the cause or not.
Many people myself included have had problems with norton and p2p often blocking d/loads/uploads
from connecting.......seems norton is not so p2p friendly these days.
Personally i hate it and wouldn't have it on my PC at all.... the older versions were better but the new ones are a total pain in the ass I'm afraid.

Hi Dedicated,

It sounds to me as if this is a Vista issue, not nortons really mostly because its a download issues not uploads that your having, so I would suggest you have a look at this thread,

https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?topic=4804.0.html

Make sure any folders your files download to have this and so does the WinMX program folder as well.  Make sure that your folder for incoming files is an actual folder and I would suggest putting it on the root of the drive like C:\Downloads.  Also it may be a good idea to start fresh rather then  try to complete files you have partials of, maybe a small corruption in the files that are incomplete along with the Vista permissions issues.

Btw, 2.6 has been tested on Vista and does infact work if your still wondering that.

Im not a Vista expert but just thought this sounded like it may help.

Let us know.

NEW PROBLEM  NOW!!

WINMX IS WORKING BEAUTIFULLY...until I click on something..for example to delete a file or cancel a file. When I do that I get a VISTA MESSAGE that states the there is a new version of WINMX and to go to VLADD44 to download it...after the message is x'd out WINMX stops working.............What is this all about? That never happened and more importantly how do I disable it?

Thats because you have a substandard patch installed go to the link below and download the setup for existing installs this will stop you from getting such messages

 https://patch.winmxconex.com/

when the setup is installing dont forget to point the incoming/outgoing file path  to the one you installed on your c/drive.

That is a typical error message you will recieve when your a Vista user only, I suppose Microsoft didnt do much research into options to udpate WinMX but with so many programs you have to make error messages custom for i guess its all we can expect.  So basically whats happening is your WinMX is crashing when you attempt to delete the files so for now (again i believe this maybe just a Vista issue, not a 2.6 issue) do it from within the folder and not from the WinMX screen but within the folder they are in itself.

As far as the cancel im not sure there hun really.
