Network Attackers Thinning Out
« on: March 02, 2008, 01:08:47 am »
Folks with the imminent demise of MediaDefender we may be in a good place as regards flooding activities.

Thanks to the diligent teams blocking their activites over the last few years we have been able to hold our own with the flooders and it was noticed fairly recently by a friend of the site that one of our major opponents had withdrawn from the fray permanently.

We had noticed some time ago that Macrovision had left the network but had thought they would be returning, this will it seems not be the case as the information shown to me today conclusively shows they have discontinued offering their service to the Cartel so if (and thats a "heres hoping If" ) MediaDefender go belly up we may find that there will be no more flooding on the network until they find another company willing to do their dirty work.

In effect if this "miracle" occurs we can conclusively say we have won the anti p2p war. I will of course be watching the news with baited breath in the next few weeks but I just wanted to pass on some good news that I thought most of you would be pleased to hear.

Keep your fingers crossed folks  :D

I am not ready to jump up and down just yet. Just when you think a battle is won, a new war is often waged. So I am still viewing this from an "it would be a miracle" point of view.

Despite that, it is still interesting news.
Downloading is an addiction I do not want to give up.

I agree that we should always be on our guard but I did feel many folks would be happy to hear we are not on the losing end of the tech battle being waged on their behalf  :)
