Patch Detected As Virus
« on: April 15, 2008, 03:01:51 pm »
Yesterday AVG quarantined 3.0mod3-3.54-Setup.exe as a virus. Now, I have no particular reason to believe that it really is a virus since I got it from this place, and also I've had this file in my computer since mid-December without AVG making a fuss. Does anyone know why AVG would now decide that the patch should be classed as a virus, and is anyone else having this same experience?

It's a false positive result. I had the same problem.
Last I heard AVG is working on fixing the false positive results with the 3.0mod3 patch.
Today's update didn't fix the problem yet.If you need to install MX disable the Resident Shield temporary to install the patch.

Just been re-installing after sorting out my pc and unfortunatley I lost my winmx install.

Same thing happened to me, Searched through the forums for an install link and the first one
I tried AVG detected it as a virus.
The second link I tried was ok. So if anyones unsure I can vouch that this one was ok for me

 https://patch.winmxconex.com/

Im not that implying  that the other links are not ok either, just posting my findings.
