It looks like the recording industry are finally being forced to pay up to settle a counter claim case which they knowingly brought against an innocent person when they tried their infamous extortion revenue method.
http://www.slyck.com/story1687_P2P_Defendant_Awarded_Attorney_FeesIn an order directed by the judge overseeing the case, "Andersen now requests an award of attorney fees in the amount of$298,995.00 and costs in the amount of $5,387.05." The music industry, like Tanya, wasn't about to be steamrolled and objected to the substantial fee.
It seems everyone's keep negotiating skills paid off, as the judge came back and ordered that "Andersen should be awarded attorney fees in the amount of$103,175. Andersen's Bill of Costs in the amount of
$4,659 should be approved."
Its about time these legal "thugs" where stopped in their tracks and this is not for the first time either, its a simple fact that the RIAA or its members have been sued by innocent folks more times than they have won any filesharing cases, this is a great suprise to many who mistakenly believe the RIAA have won thousands of cases, the truth is they have won just 1 contested case and in that case only after the judge misdirected the jury on a point of law and for that reason is being appealed.
