Author Topic: Beta 4 WinMx upgrade (Read 2300 times)

Hi, Im new to the forums (well..read but never posted before)

Sorry if i seem a bit dumb... but how to I upgrade my WinMx once I have downloaded the Beta version?

I tried pasting it over the existing winmx in the folder but it seems to crash frequently.

rename v3.53 to oldwinmx & just add the beta version to your winmx programs folder.
When you restart MX it should start the beta version.

I cantstop Winmx from crashing every five minuites!.

heres what i have in my Winmx folder....

colors.dat
errcatch.exe
lib4.dat
library.dat
license.txt
oldWinMX.exe
settings.dat
uninstall.exe
WinMX.exe
wpnpchannelcmds.txt
ws2_32.dll

Am I missing something?

hmm, didn't the library change?
try renaming library.dll to oldlibrary.dll maybe?

Thanks for the suggestion ..but it hasnt worked,

I've uninstalled /reinstalled winmx, flushed the dns etc but it just keeps crashing!

Then just make a new folder, copy the winmx.exe (version 3.54) into it and double click on it - it should create the other files on it's own. You'll need to readjust all your settings etc though. Alternatively if it works then you could try copying in the files from your original winmx folder file by file and try out which one causes the crash - if any.

have the same problem

tried everything but it doesn´t work

idea: aftert winmx is crashing, i have the chance to send a bug protocol. but the email goes to old winmx.com.
why don´t you change the adress and u get the bug directly
??????

The fix for the crashing and the 98/ME users patch are all in the same installer located here:

https://www.winmxgroup.com/Install-1.9.exe

Just follow the instructions that go along with this installation as you go. and restart WinMX...
