This thread was started because a patch that has KNOWN serious bugs that cause major problems for the user was being released publicly and to quote "

So they go get this new wonderful patch they dont read about its betaness and even if they do they see the words Patch Update and rightly assume its been tested to the best of abilities and has passed those tests ready for public beta tests. This version of Eagles patch had serious issues and we were told by Eagle himself that the only change was an installer. That is totally irresponsible.
You sound like the biggest hypocrite in the world atm Mizz something that is not normally your style, portraying events and people here and tossing insults around.
I had no intention of having a big fight about all this (although I should do because every time a post is made here to inform users of potential problems we get the same users coming in to throw the dummies out) or airing dirty laundry either but Im well sick of reading the spewing every time we post something to inform and help users. Like it or not this patch should not be released as even an alpha test with the issues it has now and no one with any integrity is going to sit back and just let it happen to unsuspecting users, especially not us.
Here are some facts:
We were all excited about this new patch and its potential (something it still has, as made abundantly clear here) when it was being worked on.
There was a meeting regarding this patch and its use by ALL users not just dll users, something that had alot of potential to stop all this fighting about whose patch is better then whose.
This meeting it was decided that we would go ahead and begin talks with the folks of pie and get balls rolling to do just that.
Unfortunately after the pain taking to make sure no one person made any unilateral decisions about this patch and its future One man decided to take it upon himself to not only inform pie they could not 'have' a copy of the source (deal breaker and he knew it) but then also wouldn't agree to give anyone a copy of the source. On top of this unilaterally choose to release this beta patch.
If you think we are going to sit back and let one person do all the deciding for something so important to all of WinMX and its users, or go behind thier backs and go along with this pattern of behavior you really dont know us at all.
Next came the fall out of several caches being shut down and like this or not, yes those users paying for those had the right to shut them down but a 'right' doesnt mean its the right thing to do. As I stated to you in email afterwords our having to move the rooms I had no qualms about but shutting users connections ability down over all this was wrong, users dont care, the average doesn't give a rats about who/what/where only how am I going to get connected and get using WinMX, so making out like the decision to shut down all those caches was ok cause you didnt like wmw politics is BS. Merlin and I have been in many scraps fighting tooth and nail, and may always but even he NEVER shut down a cache over it, EVER!.
In the fall out of all of this, Ghostship spoke to Eagle and kept in close touch with him about it and subsequently received a copy of its source which as mentioned he has sat upon waiting for Eagle to re take-up work on it to fix the major flaws it has now.
I myself have logs of msn conversations with Eagle about the bugs it has so no one can state with any truth they were unaware of those. (I log everything so you're not likely to be the only one with aces up your sleeve Mizz).
Up until recently all we were aware of (if I'm to believe Eagle's own words) this patch has had no further work done to correct the crashing or the socket problems and it is dangerous to use as is period. The user that brought it to our attention was noticing odd behavior and was worried.
Atm that's all I can really see is this same one person deciding to release this version knowing what problems it has.
Now I dont care if moses or God himself releases a patch if its causing issues its going to get a mention here and not a good one because believe it or not for what ever its worth I can assure you that the staff here have NOTHING but the interest of the future of WinMX in our hearts, we've sacrificed more then you could ever imagine for this program and to help users get the most out of it. I'm sure some of you dont believe that reading this but I frankly dont have a care what you few think, I dont answer to sarcastic, selfish, ppl that want to turn this thread into some personal witch hunt, I only answer to the majority of users on WinMX who know what we stand for.
What have i actually done? set wcs to use the caches you were recommending.. you turned that into a fight...

Bearded, *you* turned that into a fight, by insisting we shouldn't recommend using caches.winmxworld.net instead for those having connection issues and insinuating how useless that information post was, not the first time your replies have had sarcastic and rude undertones.
The test software may have been clearly marked as test (in your opinion) due to the word *beta* being used and everyone's extensive knowledge about what a beta is, however i re-iterate ""

And I dont have a shot of the site as I saw it last nite however, Im sure I also saw the words 'RECOMMENDED' in bold with this download.
I see no reason to continue all this hearsay, and thats all the accusations are here. If you have something to offer besides 'I think' then bring it on, other wise go on about your business and give it a rest.
