Searching in Japanese?

I'm looking for particular Japanese files, and would like to search for them using respective keywords in Japanese, but I'm not having much luck inputting Japanese characters in to the search. Each time I type them out and input them, it turns into question marks. For the record, I can view the file names with Japanese in them just fine, it's specifically inputting them that's the problem.
Anybody familiar with this problem?

thanks! It turned out i just forgot to set my non-unicode default to Japanese. So once i switched it back, everything worked just fine

i tried the wizard but my setting in the font doesnt have either  MS PMincho or MS PGothic  font im using winmx 3.53
