Upload que is very small

Hi, I always have had a very small Que, never more than 6 or 7 users are in my Que waiting for their upload. And lately that number is around 3. I have also noticed that when people browse my list it is showing more that one copy of the same file which is incorrect. It also does not list all the files I am sharing including files over 700 MB.

I am also getting more than normal time outs and connection refused conditions. Since my lastest automatic security update from Norton it's been very hard to connect to anyone so I turned it off. I am wondering if other Mx users that got the same security update are causing the low connection rates in here at the moment.

Hi Milbot,

It sounds to me like you may have some issues with the shared folders, and those should be easy enough to resolve.  First of all I am going to assume that you have either recently switched to/been using WinMX version 3.54b4 as this is the one that often users find them selves double sharing files accidentally.

Basically in 3.53 the shared folder didnt auto share 'sub folders' when you select a folder to share in v3.54b4 it has by default 'Share sub folders' ticked, often you dont even notice this tick box at the bottom of the shared file types when you select the folder.  The fix is to go in and unshare all of your folders.  Then go and re-select the folders you want to share, either 'Untick' this share sub folders box, or remember what folders are inside others so that you dont share them twice.

As for you 700mb files that are not sharing after you have corrected the above problem if they are still not sharing come back and let us know what the files extensions are the .xxx  at the end of the files, maybe they are files not shared by WinMX by default.

I hope this will help the que issues as well but to be honest we all have days the ques are smaller then normal and some they are larger.. lets get this other stuff sorted then worry about that.
