I have been wandering (and wondering) down the various threads regarding Connectivity / versions / patches, and finally got lost. Too many out-of-date suggestions, dead links and broken threads.
I tried to follow the re-install suggestions regarding the patched versions of 3.53 and 3.54, but both failed to complete due to the 'unicows missing' issue.
I then tried the 'Install 2.2' installer, and that got a copy of V3.53 installed, (Frontcode Technologies - Windows Socket Info: Called Version 1.1 High Version 2.2 WinSock 2.0) however, as suspected, it does not connect, though the yellow light still blinks.
Now, where can I go to find the most up-todate, clearly-stated, guaranteed-to-work, process for getting and 'successfully' installing the required patch for the V3.53 I have up, OR, find the most up-todate, clearly-stated, guaranteed-to-work, process for clearing everything out and then re-installing a working copy of WinMX on 98SE?
Would V3.3 be a better choice for 98SE?
