This guy is perhaps being too subtle ..  ;)

German avant-garde musician Johannes Kreidler has composed a song that quotes from 70,200 other musical works in merely 33 seconds. Did I mention he's an avant-garde musician? In any case, he's trying to be a good citizen and properly report all of the songs he used to the German music rights organization GEMA. The only problem: Each and every song quoted has to be reported by filling out a separate form.

Kreidler has said that his song aims to question the validity of copyright in the age of the internet.

I wonder what they will bill him for using these snippets if he releases anything to the public, no doubt this peice will never ever be heard, that is after all what the false monopoly created by copyright legislation leads to.

Quotes from 70,200 songs in just 33 seconds of music? How could that be possible unless it all just sounds like white noise or is sung at hyper-sonic speeds?
Downloading is an addiction I do not want to give up.

@cobra

i was thinking the same thing...

the 'hypersonic' approach could actually make a neat song that sounded like a 'circuit bent' piece of techno....

I suspect he is referencing one note from each composition, that would explain the high count and make a headache creating problem for the rights organisation, after all is is a copy of a note or an original when you compose ?
