yet another upload time out thread.
« on: November 11, 2008, 07:49:42 am »
My old ips provider went bust (Blitz telecom)
I moved from adsl to adsl 2 with telstra bigpond.
At the same time anyone that tried to upload would time out and not connect.
I still had the ports forwarded correctly on the Thompson speedtouch 530 my old modem from the old isp.
Anyway yesterday I bought a Netcom nb5 adsl2+ modem.
I used the UPNP on the modem for it to auto forward the ports, but no luck. I then manually forwarded them , but no luck.
Not using xp firewall, only the modems firewall , and still can't do uploads with it off or on.
The port forwarding part in the modem looks correct.
I have used winmx for many years and never had this problem
Any ideas?

The fix to all my problems was the community patch. I unistalled it and installed the [edit] patch.

Tig: we dont support the other patch.

Plough when you do decide to attempt the community patch again. Could you please come and see me in winmxworld.com chat room.

I suspect Plough is happy to enjoy the massive amounts of fakes he will receive and enjoy wasting the primaries bandwidth he is using , some ppl are just too selfish for words.  :/

For those who may have a router based problem if you get stuck it is only necessary to post here for help, I dont know why Plough was able to assertain the patch was causing him a problem as its not clear from the above what he did to try to resolve it but I have yet to come across a problem without a solution, using a second rate connection system helps no one.

Having checked the dates here it seems Plough did give us a chance to help him and we seemed to have missed that opportunity, My apologies for that Plough, however I dont believe asking folks to help flood the network is a viable solution for our future, sites offering flooding friendly connection methods are not ones we wish to advertise.
