Had a quick search on the forums for mobile emulators to run WinMX, but had little to no luck with a whole host of dated backlogs of archive topics and now, what i gather defunct applications from 2009.

Is there any way to run a chat client of WinMX for the windows 8 operating system for mobile phone or tablet?

Any help is appreciated.

not if the device uses an ARM cpu..... if so you can only use windows 8 'metro' apps and nothing else.... if it uses an intel(x86 or x64) cpu then the mobile device needs the 'standard pc desktop' mode available to it and even then you might have to download some old libraries (.dlls) from microsoft for it to work....

WPCC Mobile used to work on a ARM chipset.

arbitrary apps also cant be installed on win8 mobile... have to use microsoft store..... or at least thats what ive been lead to believe...

on Windows RT (Windows 8 for ARM) you cannot install desktop apps only Metro apps from Microsofts store. You have to jailbreak the device to be able to install unsigned apps and desktop apps.

The Windows 8 x86 based tablets don't have that problem though and run WinMX fine.
