@Zahira -- if your goal is a 'raw rip' rather than conversion use a tool called 'dvd decryptor' to rip the movie to a .VOB on your harddrive... rename the file from .VOB to .M2V and play it with VLC or mediaplayer classic or the mirad of other players that support the .m2v format...
NOTE: the file will be large... on average around 5gb...

video is what DVDs are nativly encoded in usually with ac3 audio....
mp2 audio is a 'antique' used as the audio codec along side the mp1 or mpg video which is also used for videoCDs....

audio also produces better sound at high bitrates (around 320) compared to mp3.... but thats another topic...
