Whilst it seems there are few judges in Sweden who dont work for either the media corporations or other pro copyright groups today one of those judges was told to withdraw from the pirate bay appeal case.
http://www.zeropaid.com/news/87071/court-spotify-link-makes-pirate-bay-appeal-judge-biased/Swedish Appeals Court rules lay judge has conflict of interest being that he works for Spotify, a legal P2P music streaming service partly owned by the record companies suing The Pirate Bay.
Today it ruled on the matter and found that his employment as a product developer and holder of stock options in Spotify, which is partially owned by record labels suing The Pirate Bay, “constitute grounds for questioning his impartiality in the mentioned case.”
This is a victory for common sense, what is of concern however is why this judge did not disqualify himself already when there was a clear case of "vested interest", I wonder what else will happen before these guys get a fair and open trial.
