Have you tried in another post?

The forum seems to have a weird bug where sometimes links won't post as such, I've encountered this myself at some point but thought it was fixed...

Please try in another thread and let me know if it works there please.

PS: I've checked the permissions of both you're assigned to, there's nothing wrong with those permissions.

should be fixed now.

Turns out the new mod I applied some time ago to prevent lurkers and guests from posting links had to be enabled for each board that has custon permissions - sigh, lol

i 'm suprised nobody else posted about this, maybe it's for the same reason i waited or nobody noticed?

-what i miss is the post count (and maybe more) under the user info next to posts

-some sigs overlapping posts

-the archive being broken at some points (good example ..fxserver section gives me broken incomplete downloads)

all this can t be just me can it?? lol

what i miss is the post count

It was debated a while back by admins and decided to do away with the post count due to so many people boosting post counts in sections non related to winmx help and racking up high post counts even though not contributing to winmx help as such (just a general outline as to why).... post counts can still be checked though by checking out users profiles.

The rest i cant say i have noticed but no doubt will be rectified soon joshua..... thanks for pointing out  :)

I know about the archive. I have several reports from many users stating that when they download files from the archive, they come back corrupted, and unusable. I am not sure if anyone is working on this, and if not I would like to volunteer.

I think maybe the look and feel of the forum is just you though. I am not seeing any graphical problem, however I could be overlooking it.

Hmm, the archive having problems was a known fact?
Not to me it wasn't....   :S
And since I think I'm about the only one being in a situation to fix anything with it nothing is likely to ever happen without anyone telling me...
So thanks for posting it here Joshua :D

Admittedly I've been pretty much MIA lately but I do check these forums daily, so this is the right place to put stuff like that.

Can you please go to httpss://archive.winmxconex.com/ and see if this happens there as well?
That mirror has a slightly different configuration and I'd like to know if that makes a difference.

As to the post count and user rank not being displayed with the posts anymore that was in fact deliberate as Hell already explained.
We discussed this amongst us Administrators and felt that this was something we should give a try although it might change again in the future.

The signature issues you're having might be related to your browser and it's settings I suspect as this is the first I've heard about it.
It's a known fact that using adblock add-on for firefox might cause issues with rendering on this kind of forum software we're using though.
If you're using that it might be worth a try to disable the adblocker for winmxworld.com as we'll never have any ads on here :)
Other that that there's nothing that comes to mind right now.
Anyone else having these problems?
If so please let me know

tested the same fx download and it made no difference

about some of the sigs, i have to see one again to look at any possible reason, i was on explorer8 when i noticed this and using xplorer pro's add blocking, will let you know if i notice it again but from memory i can only say that i was suprised that pretty big image sigs showed no problem while other smaller text sigs did

I've started up my Lappy with win7 and IE8 and did some testing.
Turns out ZIP files downloaded from the archive with IE8 are not working.

It works fine with FF though, so it must be IE8 :S

Unfortunately I don't know what's different here, I tried playing with the compatibility and security settings in IE but I always end up with non-working archives.

For now please use FF to download from the archive till we've figured this out.

*edit: I have investigated this a little further and found that adding the mime type for zip files specifically will force IE to download these files correctly.
Downloading zip files with IE8 from the archive now works for me, please try and let me know :)

Blitzen, if you're still getting the above error I need some more information please:

Is this occurring on the site or the forum?
I'm assuming on the forum as the site itself is mostly static html pages.
Does this happen on all pages or just on one/some?
If so on which ones?

Most of the forum pages are dynamic php scripts, so I need to know which one is being executed at the time of the error, otherwise the mentioned line/character is hard to track down.

Also what is your codepage set to?

The forum uses utf-8 because of the international stuff on here in different languages.
The forum will request that setting from your browser but if it's set to always use something like a windows charset this might be causing the error.
I'm sure I can come up with more info I might need but for now that's all that comes to mind... :walk:
