Due to me not declaring something properly

the topbar menues weren't showing properly in IE.

Laptop batteries were run down, so I didn't check myself - duh.

So I'm afraid we'll have to do the whole poll again as people may want to vote differently now.....

Again, I'm sorry...

Don't feel bad, lol

I know there are some admins using IE6 for instance, but I've checked now myself.

Sometimes it's really amazing how different things can look but at least my good old laptop with xp home and IE6 is being used every now and then again, hehe

1 and 3 look ok in exploder,
2 and 4 still look like boxed, well, whatever... if it gets too annoying, I'll use firefox

For the rest, same comment as before, we will get used

The annoying bright borders *should* be gone in IE, at least they are in mine (IE6)

For me the test pages look identical in FF and IE now.

Maybe you need to clear your cache?

2 & 4 looked 'boxed' to me too... never looked at the first set(so nothing cached to clear).... are they supposed to have thinnish lines between the buttons? or be seemless between like 1 and 4?

...site needs a css bug and fonts fixed too but... ive been trying to get someone to fix that css bug since the day the site opened...

topper 3 looks very nice tho... good job on that.
but im curious; whats wrong with the one thats up there already?

just a tidbit of infos that'll probably cause more headaches, but is true; the 3 different versions of IE in common use today (6,7 & 8 ) all treat CSS 'fixes' to their broken support differently.... so... if you want pixel perfect you need 4 stylesheets .... one for each IE (hidden in conditional comments) and another for the rest of the browsers -- the ones that actually follow CSS as written, which can cause bugs to show up if they load an IE-hackfix sheet....

Yes they do - but they used to have bright borders around them in their first version which were not supposed to be there.
And I didn't exactly put in any "hacks" for IE - but I did take into consideration that IE needs some things declared repeatedly because no version of it will "inherit" things properly like standard complaint browsers do.
This only means that things need to be delared every time you use them instead it simply inheriting the right properties from their parent declaration.

Repeating things will not make other browser treat stuff differently though

And what's that css bug you're talking about?
The site itself hasn't been using any css when it first opened....
I've only converted it to using css lately, so what exactly IS the issue here?

The forum has a css that was written by the theme developer of course but I'm not aware of any obvious "bugs", so please post some more information about what exactly you think is a bug here?

It's just the top bar that's different, the site is the same of course

Allright, voting has been closed and the result is pretty clear: test4.html is the winner, so the new top bar menu has been applied.

I think Nylly made a small typo in her post Omega, the bar is the right one though I,m sure and it looks good so I,m not complaining
