Whilst recently we heard of AFACT (a Cartel anti p2p group) losing the case against an ISP provider, what we didnt know was how much their failed case was going to cost them, read the article below to see how they are trying to get out of paying their dues
http://torrentfreak.com/anti-piracy-group-loses-in-court-doesnt-want-to-pay-costs-100222/At the beginning of February, AFACT, representing several Hollywood movie studios, lost its case against iiNet after the court decided that the ISP was not responsible for the infringements of its subscribers. Despite being ordered to pay all costs, AFACT says it will now go back to court in an attempt to avoid paying them.
Groups such as AFACT regularly lobby their governments to find new ways of forcing their operating costs onto the tax paying public, this is a great day for joe public as it clearly demonstrates that such groups are not interested in protecting artists rights or any of the other "blather" they trot out with to the politicians, no they simply wish to stifle competition and enforce the monopoly that sees many talented folks unable to monetize their work because the Cartel groups have all the decent platforms to reach the public and control 96% of all global music disk production, thus virtually forcing many folks to sign away their work to these copyright parasites, lets hope a fresh view is taken next time such groups go begging for public money or further anti consumer regulation, they cant be trusted and nor should they be.
