This is an update note from me.

Microsoft is honouring it's agreement with the EEC to allow other browsers with it's operating systems available in Europe. Microsoft would normally install Internet Explorer as part of the operating system package. The European Council has insisted that this monopoly situation must end. Updates to Microsoft operating systems are now being sent out that give a selection of twelve alternatives.

The full list of browsers on offer in the update - IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, Flock, Greenbrowser, Flashpeak, Avant, Maxthorn,  K-Meleon and Sleipnir.

There are complaints about the selection as a lot of the alternatives are based on the microsoft rendering engine -
