Once again. Thank you GhostShip, Zhen-Xlogic, Will, and anyone else that may be contributing to the coding of the new client!! Also thanks to those that help out with running the forum! I hope someday some of us will have the resources to contribute more.

Will there be any changes in the clients hashing after it goes though alpha, beta, and RC on the first release?  If i query a search will it highlight files in the search results that I already have in my library so I don't download duplicate files?

Yes it's possible and is also planned :), but depending on how much time people have to commit it may not get added until later on.

Thanks for the quick reply Will! That would indeed be a welcomed addition to the client!

just an idea, if not too complicated, one for the wish-list
browse...
at present we have 3,000 and 5,000 file limits, but OFC many users have many more
how about a 'Quick browse' option where the first 3,000 files could be listed
then a 'mid Browse', that covers up to 5,000, then a 'MAXI browse'
that lists EVERY available file

too hard?
might be useful
run the quick, then later along the road, go the 5,000, or even the Maxi...

Bluey, I recommended a higher browse limit several months ago, and I believe someone informed me that it would put more strain on the network. They were talking about adding an option to block users from browsing your files for privacy. Don't quote me on that though. Its been several months ago.

The suspense is killing me right now. Does anyone know what part of the client they are working on at the moment? How much has been completed on primary / server protocol? Sorry, not trying to rush anything!

If used all the time, yes, Maxi Browse might put a strain on the network, but as i see it, there'd be  3 buttons in the browse window, default browse is 'quick', but once the browse window is open, the user can click 'Maxi' or 'Mid' depending on what the whois says the other user has...

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea bluey, not sure if it'll happen but it sounds good.

Something i'd like to see is a customizable right click for the user list. Where you could add commands specific to the chat server you host with.
Rabbit and i think robomx are capable of this by reading an .ini file with right click commands. Would be a nice feature for hosts :)

*chuckles* its not even out yet folks... give it a little more time...

@achilles; yes privacy on browse has been asked for.... imagine the cartel using blueys 'maxi browse' ... "file sharer charged with 65535 counts of infringement" ....

...maxi browse? you arent from the US are you bluey.... i got a mental picture of someone in the tampon/pad isle of the pharmacy in walmart trying to make up their mind.... no im not making fun... its just made me lol...

At the moment development is temporarily on hold due to the attacks taking up development time, however some development is still under way.

Hans, here are some screen shots posted of the new client https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?topic=10797.0.html
It is my understanding it is still in pre alpha stage. No primary support. Only secondary.

I noticed in the screen shots you guys had the same colors for resumable(yellow) and currently downloading(light and dark blue) files.I really hope you guys add a color for files that have been downloaded already to avoid downloading duplicates. This is something I bump up against often because I have a pretty extensive library and sometimes the same files will circulate under different file names. If I browse someone and the files i've already downloaded are green, for example, that would be really helpful.....just putting that out out there. Also, as file sizes are increasing that 2 gig limit has to go.

@ Achilles

The screenshots you linked to are actually from a primary client, we halted work on the original near completed secondary version soon after the attacks started as it was seen as a shift in our priorities was required.

@ O I have answered your question in another topic where you posted much the same question  :)
