Some of you guys may now know about these scripts as I've not posted them here before but basically since the attacks began me and josh have been coming up with a number of workarounds to allow room hosters to keep their rooms accessible to their users. To that end we have the winmxunlimited.net room listing service which allows you (the host) to place your room on the website and then users can visit that site to find your room and they can even click on your room name and have it automatically open in their WinMX (If they install the plugin, also available on the site).
So with that being a great resource in late 2011 I provided two scripts to compliment the site which allow you to automatically list your room on the site regardless of if your IP changes. You simply install the script, set your topic & number of users, then the script keeps your room listed 24.7. Even if your IP changes while you're hosting the new room will be listed on the site with your new IP. You don't even need to restart anything or type any commands it just works.
That script is available here: http://www.mxpulse.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=541
The second script is called Room Finder and as the name suggests it allows you to search for rooms. Specifically inside your room any user can type !findroom <name> and search for a room. It is very very fast, it is fully customisable to fit in with your room design (it has a text file it creates so you can theme the entire look of it, make it private/public etc).
Here is a screenshot of how it looks at default:
But again you can change this look completely, customize how many results it shows, make it show how many rooms there are total, the server the room is using, even the room topic can be displayed it's all up to you.
Find Room is available here: http://www.mxpulse.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=647
I hope you find these scripts useful and as always the source is provided and you are empowered to modify it and redistribute it as you see fit. All the code is very well commented to explain what everything does and these scripts also support automatic self-updating if you install wget in to your plugins folder, this is an optional extra, if you choose not to install wget you will still continue to receive update notifications whenever an update is released and you can update the scripts yourself manually.
