For anyone who misses the old days of MSN, these fellas have worked to bring it back. Jonathon Kay worked for microsoft on MSN chat, and is part of this project as well. He's trustworthy in my books.
As of now MSN 7.5 is the most recent version working, winks, nudges, file transfers, custom emotes etc are all working. An old plugin from back in the day is also available "Messenger Plus!" which adds even more fun stuff and features. (Note some antivirus will flag this plugin as potentially harmful due to the nature of how the plugin works, but it is a false detection). A few of us have been having a blast using this again
