Urgently Need A Japanese Translator
« on: January 09, 2006, 12:46:00 pm »
Right now we are seeing that most primary users are Japanese, approximately 49% of our network is made up of Japanese users.  This is great except for one problem they often dont know about the flooding, and the content that they are after is not being targeted by the RIAA so they have no reason to know what damage its causing to the entire network.

We urgently need a fluent Japanese translator for site to help explain this problem and get the message to them.

If you are or know of a person that speaks both English and Japanese please let us know either on this thread or send me a pm.

Our goal is to explain what benefits there are to these users personally and to the health of the entire network and also to have our peer guardian, sherwood, and patch blocking methods translated.

We have some Japanese 'Friends' who come on our server, most of the time they understand english...but sometimes we have to use a translator.  The best one I found is Bable Fish.  Here is a link:
http://world.altavista.com/tr
You just type what you want translated in the top box...click on the 'english to japanese' tab and click translate.  It works pretty good.  We never had any problems with it.  Hope it can help :)

Sry to double post...no edit button...The translator works both ways, so if they reply in japanese, you just copy and paste it to the top box and click japanese to english and translate.

While that's true...  try writing a piece of text, or take a news artice from http://news.bbc.co.uk, and translate it with the bable fish from English to another language.

then translate it back.  The garbled mess will show you why you need a human translator  (o;

For the record, Amikai is a lot better for Japanese than Babelfish is.

Yes anyone willing to help is welcome.

I need the following instructions translated into Japanese.

https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/peerguardian.html

https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/block_the_riaa.html

https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/filtering_fakes.html

I also need two other things translated, one is the instrucions for Sherwood and the other is a text of information on why its important for the primary Japanese hosts file users to update their patch, and use these programs to protect us all.

I feel together we can save WinMX for us all!

Here is a Japanese site which has already done the instuctions about blocking flooders. It stated about the news in WinMX World.

I suggest to add this page to links...

This is great Jack,

Its great to know we are not the only ones concerned with blocking the flooding .. :D

I was also pleased to see that PeerGuardian does indeed come in Japanese!!

So we can hope that other large WinMx Help Sites do the same!
Also I would like to add, as I obviously am not Japanese I cant visit the online WinMx community of help sites to see if the major ones are asking primary users to use pg2, sherwood, or the dll to block and protect.

I am curious how well informed Japanese users are on these sites..

What's needed is a FILTER to keep those @$$holes off WinMX to begin with.  Don't know what they're doing?  You bet your sweet ass they know what they're doing.  They're TRYING (with a great deal of success) to drive the rest of us off of WinMX, and take it over.  If this continues, I'm going to something more sensible like LimeWire, even if it IS loaded with spyware, it's a damn sight better than being bombarded by the frikkin "Nips".

Y Not,

Your comments are ridiculous.. maybe Limewire is the best place for you.

This network is loosing western users fast, the main reason is the flooding is taking its toll on connection issues, and content.  The Japanese and Asian users are the majority of primary users right now so if you get a file from WinMx that is english and from another english speaking user, chances are great its thanks to the Japanese users ..

Y Not, please take this as a warning we do not allow racism such as you are spouting off with here, keep your comments to yourself or find your access to the site blocked.

I am sure your angry over something but we cannot blame Japanese users who have stayed loyal to the network while others in the west have left.
Let me reassure you the amount of users from Japan has not grown but we have lost many users from our own lands to cheap propaganda and not running an awareness campaign to let folks know we are still here.

We must stand firm together with our global friends, after all it is now our job to reagain members to swell our ranks, not do Macrovisions dirty work for them.
