Hi Kitty, can you make sure your system is up to date by installing these runtime libraries

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7B9BA261-7A9C-43E7-9117-F673077FFB3C&displaylang=en
(vbrun60sp6.exe)

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=25ae0cd6-783b-4968-a841-38a2743307d9&DisplayLang=en
(vcredist_x86.exe)

Its often the case that older runtime files are the cause of some problems, the patch was tested on Win98 so I hope this cures the issue your having, please let us know if this helps.

Thanls GhostShip, I was looking for something similar & you beat me to posting, since you seem to have found more recent versions of this stuff than I did, so I've removed the post I was going to make

of course trying 3.0 on 3.53 would be a good thing to find if it's 3.1 you have a problem with or 3.54, then if 3.0 on 3.54 works... try 3.1 on 3.53/3.0 on 3.54, figure out if it's a problem with 3.1 or something else

i just checked and it would appear to be a bug with 3.1, i knew there had to be undiscovered bugs somewhere :-(

as for why it's crashing, had a quick look and at first glance, that has me stumped...  3.0 seems fine though so I'm sure I'll figure something out

OK, update released (same URLs) should fix the crashing problem with opennap (yes it took me an entire day to figure out the problem, even though i knew where the bug was to within a few lines of code straight away...), I also changed the update bar to use port 80 to contact the server instead of 1234 as it seems certain ISPs ave a problem with 1234 (i was using 1234 to bypass transparent proxies, guess I'll just have to put up with them...)

ummmm... not sure if this is a 3.1 issue or if its just on my end of things... but i dont normally have any issues with users timing out.... after connecting to opennap all peer network users are timing out.... i refreshed mx connection many times and still had the timeouts happening.....disconnected from all opennap servers and within minutes my uploads worked again....like i said i'm not sure if its 3.1 but thot ya might wanna check it for yerself b4 officially releasing

*is a pain in the ass*

There definately appears to be a major issue with timouts when connected to open nap :(
normally i don't watch transfers screen, but when connected to open nap 12 successive tranfers timed out rather than starting, upon disconnecting open nap, the next 3 started normally

erm, somehow i doubt that limit has anything to do with it (the only thing it should effect winmx at all is if you try to connect to loads of opennap networks at once, but even then winmx limits itself there anyway...)

i can see there is some sort of bug with uploads when opennap is connected, but of a puzzling one (which will no doubt turn out to be a simple "oh yes so simple, why didn't i think of that sooner?" once i finally figure it out...)
