Connection
« on: June 29, 2007, 02:02:04 pm »
About an hour ago, my WinMX disconnected and will not reconnect.  When the software opens, it seems to connect to winmx.com briefly and then goes to "connectting" endlessly.    I also cannot get connected to the winmx download site.
Has something intoward happened?  This is eerily like the day it was shut down.

Same here at about 16:30 CET+1 :( :( :( winmx starts but endlessly stays with finding network connections. however some opennap servers seem to work.

Long live winMX!!

(I noticed the winmxgroup site is down too.. wonder if it's got something to do)

dow load this temporary patch from here :
https://www.winmxworld.com/files/host_file.zip

https://www.winmxworld.com/files/hosts_file.rar

Place it in Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc \

Make a backup copy of the hosts files (in the same location, a file called "hosts") adn reconnect to winmx.

Cheers :P

*edit*  You can also use this file if your on XP to auto do it for you.
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)
Patch link :

At the moment the WinMX Group caches and site are offline, this is because of a decision by the host KM to take them offline. As for why thats not my place to say as I dont know his exact reasoning.

There ya go.

Link to Yahoo groups post by KM.  I guess we have to check back often until a more permanent solution is found.

Thanks for your time and effort KM.  You will be missed.  Good luck in your future endeavors.

go here WinMXWorld.com Help_E3D7EFD5BABE
someone in the room can go through your settings with you and try help track down the problem
paste that address in the filter channel bar which is black above were the rooms would normally list
you dont need winmx connected to join any room this way
good luck with that
