Help. WinMX has suddenly started disconnecting and Connecting every couple of minutes.  I have tried to reinstall program with new patch several times, but I still have this problem.  The internet stays connected as well as the wireless, but not winmx.  Is there something I can do? thank you.

no,  unless it will now that I had it shut down for a while and reset the router again.  I appreciate you taking the time for this problem.

Im not sure either unless its a wireless connection WinMX can be quite sensitive to slight intereuptions.. try it hard wired just to test?

I too are having the same problem. I have moved to secondry connection as my ISP seems to be throttling traffic in the UK between 16:00 & 00:00 but every 4 or 5 hours my connection is lost or I disconnect from uploads or downloads without reason. Queing members get cancelled without reason and the message system keeps telling me member is not avaliable.
As for The members I am queing with, I suddenly disappear from their Que. Tried reinstall along with patches  and peer guardian 2 but nothing is helping

I have come accross this problem before. Can u try changing ports. Also please let me know which isp you are using?

Thanks

I agree I dont like those port numbers. Personally i use high numbers (anything between 20,000 and 60,000). I have a linskys router which is a good router but sensitive to alot of activity. I recommend that you dont use port trigger settings as that opens a range of ports. Restore those settings back to default or 0 and close any ports that you're not using. I'm also curious to know if your isp is capping / throttling your b/w.

I hope this helps.  :)

I noticed in another section you were looking for the d/l link for the pie patch, it would help to know which patch that you decided on and it would be easier for us to help you if you didnt post in so many different sections.

I changed my ports to 26699 TCP and 48880 and port forwarded my router also. Still having problems. It goes to P=1 then disconnects and tries reconnecting again. It seem to me some kinda firewall is blocking me even though my windows firewall is turned off.

If thats the case then i suspect that theres a problem with the port forward settings or static ip settings. If you have just one number off it will not work right. Go back to portforward.com and recheck that your using the right instructions for your router and how to setup the static ip. Go back to command promt and type ipconfig /all and recheck the numbers you entered in network connections. Also im wondering if you tried using a secondary connection and what happens with that.  :)

Again it would help to know if you followed through with installing the patch per this post.  https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?topic=5754.0.html

ok, in ipconfig/all I can't locate either of my TCP or my UDP port numbers. Where should those be listed? I bet this is my problem.

ipconfig /all lists your ip address, subnet mask, default gateway, and dns servers needed to setup your static ip instructions --->
http://www.portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm  portforwarding instructions ----->  http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/BEFW11S4/WinMX.htm  these are very clear and easy to follow instructions if you need help with this i think you should drop into the help room and someone can help you through these steps  :)

haha, it's funny for years I've had this rounter and have had no problems until just the other day. Something must have changed cause the port numbers are not listed in my ipconfig/all window. Ok enough with you port numbers being blocked, now what?

it could be isp blocking or still a firewall blocking even though it would seem to be off
firstly isp blocking ......what isp are you with ??
a lot of isp are introducing p2p blocking  lately  ( my own is throttling at peak times and i suspect they will be totaly blocking in the near future as they have been taken over by yet another crap isp recently) ......anyone in the uk s/east non cable area with a decent isp that allows winmx without strangling it plzz let me know.

Btw if you are still looking for your tcp and udp port settings go to settings top of your winmx page
click on tabs incoming tcp connections and in/out udp packets.

Secondly firewall issue..... even though you have manualy turned off your firewall dosent mean it has stopped blocking as i found out myself this week.... i was running on sygate and have never had a problem with it what so ever in the past ...but this week for some reason it blocked ports to several applications winmx included even when set to allow all and still after it was turned off using a process manager ... once i uninstalled  things went back to usual working fine ....so perhaps worth a try yourself lakehavasu.

@ ]2aven  the post blocking could be due to you trying to post a webb addy without using the insert hyperlink to it as this forum wont accept some addys without using this function and blocks the posts &/or leaves them posted blank .....had this myself untill Me-Here pointed this out ....
