How is the new patch coming along?

What's all this talk about a "new patch already"? I haven't downloaded any music for a coupla weeks, but have had no noticable trouble up to that point. Did something happen I don't know about?

And what is "KM's patch" exactly? Any advice on how to FIND it? I have Windows Vista now (yuck), so I'd need something compatible with that, in case that's even an issue.

The last patch was released as of July 2007 so if you were OK up to a couple of weeks back i suspect you are covered fine.

KMs patch is the only reliable one available at the moment and the arguments in this thread or others are to do with .....politics/clash of personality's/childishness & are as a result of a takedown notice from KM after he parted company from this site a good while ago
The talk of a new patch is just that at the moment...... just talk ....... when one becomes available that is up to the job and fully tested then it will become available to all and widespread advertised for all to see.

As i said above you should be fine especially if you are on vista and it was working b4 no problem,
easy way to be sure is fire it up and if it ain't broken dont try fix it 

Now perhaps this thread can be closed as its a waste of time and only adds confusion to users & has become a total farce of a thread

There is no need to lock this thread as I know there will be more patch discussion later and hence a need for the topic. Seeing as this is a well established and monitered thread there would be no need to waste space opening another one on the same subject. So at this time I'm asking that it be left alone and if anyone has any questions or should Ghost decide to post any updates it can be right here and we'll all know soon as it's posted. Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.

Hi Folks,
     I am a WinMx user that felt she needed to say something. I have used WinMx for quite a few years now and this is the first time I have posted on the forum. I am not a techie or very computer savvy but my husband is and he set me up. I can use the computer ok for my purposes..
     I have what they call "Low Vision" from an illness,. I love to read and as this passion was curtailed my kids recommended to me to try d/l books from WinMx, which I did and have done for a couple of years now and needless to say it has brought nothing but joy to my life. I listen to books now instead of reading. I looked at getting books thought the CNIB but it was to expensive so not a option for me. Thank God for WinMx. I want to "Thank You", all of you who have developed and maintained this program you have no idea how it has enriched my life.
     I am posting this here as I usually come to the forum to see if there is anything new or updates I may need and that brought me to this discussion which I have read from the beginning to the end. It saddens me to see ppl arguing on here and seeing some ppl being rude and malicious to ppll that are volunteers and trying to keep this site up and running. I agree with all the ppl who say look to the future not the past unless there is something to be learned in a positive way from it. I realize I am not a regular on this forum and some probably think she has a lot of nerve  but as a WimMx user I hate to see upset in the ranks  I give kudos to all the ppl on here, I have gone to other sites and have found WinMx to be the most user friendly program. I have met some very nice ppl on here as well, I'm not much of a chatter as I'm shy and my knowledge base is low technically. I look forward to seeing what is ahead for WinMx in the future and do hope to see happier and more positive posts on here. Keep up the good work. The only thing I can do for the community is some PR work and that is easy for me to do as I love it.

Welcome to the forum Lotti .... its great to hear from people the reasons for using winmx especially when it helps in such a positive way as it has yourself...... people do argue & discussions do get heated from time to time on here but in the main its usually with the future of winmx and its users in mind or over something they feel passionately about.

Your posts,views and thoughts are most welcome and we hope to see more of them in the future especially if we can help in any way possible with advice for any technical problems or issues you may be experiencing with winmx. 
As for the PR work.... its always good when users spread the word about winmx and this site to encourage more users to join.
