I have cable internet and my WINMX says I cannot make a primary connection to the WINMX Peer Network for the following reasons: no TCP port for incoming connections, No UDP port for incoming and outgoing packets. Is that the reason it takes so long to dow

I am going nuts!!!!
Been working on this for hours today!!

Hi Linsparks

I would suggest forwarding the tcp and udp port.

Are you running a router? I know sometimes cable does run a modem/router, there is a possibility that you could forward the ports.

What os are you using?

What firewall and antivirus are you using?

yes I have a modem for my cable internet. How would I forward the ports?? I have AVG for my virus protector. I only have windows firewall to my knowledge. I don't know alot about all this stuff. LOL I use Windows XP Media Center. Thanks, I am sorry I am in the wrong forum.

I am so sorry it didn't dawn on me awhile ago but I also have I guess it's a modem from Vonage (I have have had internet phone for about 4 months now) so I guess I have 2 of them. What do I need to do??
