Hi badmammajamma63

What operating system are you running?

this problem has been answered here:
https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?topic=4804.0.html

the problem is that the folder doesnt actually exist and its linked to a different folder. and thus winmx cant open the folder and it can change the file names since they are in a different location.

With vista its always best to make a new d/load/shares folder(s) and point winmx to that.

i replied to your pm:
and im going to post that reply here as this isnt something for a PM
"easiest thing you can do is open your settings in winmx and change the download directory to my documents or some other folder that already exists. the "my music" folder doesnt exist in vista but it has a link to it (anything that is sent to my music gets sent to music) and that is where the problem is."

thank you.
