how do i get to share my files?
all of the new cds iv put in come up in the libraray with the name but says 0 files
i can share d / ls but not the 1s i put in!
some help ppl please I WANT TO SHARE!!!!!!!!!

Swamper,

Can you tell me what you used to rip those cds?

If its Media Player those will be listed as a *.wma file, by default WinMX wont share those types of files for a good reason.

Windows Media Player has a nasty habit of placing personal information of the computer user into the tracks. This is usually imbedded in the track and its not wise to share them this way.

My best advise is to re rip these files using a free ripper such as CDex which you can find on our links page in the Audio section.

If you dont want to, and would rather share these files on WinMX you can go to the shared files or library page and select shared file types, there you can add your *.wma formats and they will show up fine..

I would have to look but.. yes the files from the version of WinAmp that allows you to rip your files will have them in .mp3 form yes...

Yes Winamp does Rip Mp3's but in the trial version, ot's only 2X speed. That's quite slow. I haven't tried it out myself. So i can't really say about the time it takes.

Hi Swamper

I always use Musicmatch Jukebox for ripping.......I find it's fast enough and has a good setup for renaming and tagging files........ never had a problem as yet .......my advice is to try a few progs & use whichever suits you best
