ANY sick freak can have a room on winmx...all ya need is a good connection and a 3rd party server...perhaps the ability to read...but...it's not anyone's place to say who can have a room and who cannot...

that's like saying who gets to live and who doesn't...that's a God complex...

yes..those rooms are FULL of nasty freaky sickos...but all we can do to protect the ones we love (our children, our rooms, and our regs) is to  keep a close eye on our children, checking files, and kickban'ing the sickos from the rooms

You can shut down the above rooms you don’t need to come on here asking for permission or to gage peoples opinions you can simply do it when you feel like it.

I understand that this is a discussion and I respect each individual has there opinions on what’s best but when in comes down to the crunch. WinMX has no rules you CAN have a say who has a room and who hasn’t you can play GOD not only on WinMX but also on the Internet in general. You can do all these things without breaking any law or indeed by breaking the law.

This is the nature of the Internet it can be exploited - technically the flooders don’t break the law they are exploiting WinMX's weaknesses.

Basically make your own mind up, use common sense - if anyone starts crashing even just a general porn room they go too far. There are clear common sense boundaries.

I do not agree, orchestrating a distributed denial of service attack is clearly against the US law under which these companies operate.

I have read the trivia of the law on the aspect of who uploads to what and where but you are most definetly breaking the law when you act in the fashion they are, in many countries as well as the US.

Whilst we are clearly against child porn in general we have asked all forum users to follow the legal path as that is the most sensible and effective  course of action to deal with the problem, as you say common sense will dictate what people actually do, whatever they say here, and each user has to decide that for themselves.

They should be dealt with, but they should be dealt with WITHIN THE LAW, else the rest of us lose our moral position..

That said, if society passed a law that said they should be stood in the marketplace in front of 200 mothers with a large supply of rocks.. I wouldn't object..

Yet part of me pitys them too.. they can't actually HELP what turns them on, anymore than I can help being turned on by women, or a gay man can help being turned on by other men.. or even than a bull can help responding to a cow that's in season.

i personally feel after you read that site, that you are WAY over your head with this issue, you're dealing with international laws, concerning child porn, let along international laws concering DoS attacks..and that is why the best way to handls this issue is to report the ip's to the proper authorities.

Many folks are disgusted by the activities of those who abuse children and those who supply pictures etc of abuse taking place, no one has said different, what is the issue here though is your idea of help.

As I have said earlier if folks wish to report any of this type of activity use the correct channels and leave it to those who can build a case against this sort of trade.

I think all folks have made there views clear and perhaps this is a good as time as ever to close this particular discussion.

I understand you point, its one I have made myself often.  

The point of this thread however is not the porn as much as the abuse of children by adults.  

Although I don't condone the behavior of these Child Porn rooms, they do pose a threat to youngsters..,
the other point to this thread is that there is no regulations on WinMx and that's part of the beauty of it.  

Besides that.. I am having sneaking suspicions that most porn doesnt use old people as actors, I don't think they often go into nursing homes to film these things... :shock:

As I said your point is valid, however misplaced in this thread I think.
