Snick is not a member of our staff any longer and nor was he at the time you mention Raven, would you have us gag him and censor what he says despite the blue ribbon mark on your own site supporting free speech ?

As for the blocklist me _here stopped publishing it some time ago for the simpe reason the cartel where reading it and reacting faster than we wanted them to by changing floodier IP's since then the list is available as you know anyway from the winmxconex site and here at various links for those who can use the site search, do I want to discuss what I,m blocking and why with a group of ppl who wont know what the threat is or how to deal with it let alone how to detect the threats or prioritise them ? The answer is no and as its such an important job I am doing it myself to ensure no one can claim the list is bad, if thats what your trying to claim them I suggest you back off slowly as I wont be taking prisoners when it comes to ppl making allegations of blocklist abuse, its not done and never has been.

For the information of those who may not know it the domain operators and cache operators have their own section here on the forum but we only have cache operators who are commited to helping all users and not just the ones who use our patch or software.

"There are numerous well known people I have spoken with who also strongly agree winmxworld is biased and power hungry. Although you may think this is a "winmx help website" it's directy connected to the network and it's runners. "

if those people are so expert, Like you, 'Anonymous', why are they not involved in the ongoing help, administration, and management of the network?

WMW is the biggest group working to keep the network going, and will always take cheap potshots from others that cant be bothered doing anything useful...

if you wanna go being part of another splinter group, working to fragment the network, well, thats your problem.

We need unity, not bitching and fragmentation, nor disruption and divisiveness

So now you're suggesting that neither myself or Merlin choose not to keep up with the cache blocklist? I only found out by accident yesterday that new entries were added and Melins still fails for one of the entries. I "get" that we all have our issues but something like this is considered important (to me anyways).

I guess you think that since I'm an outcast that I don't deserve these kinds of updates and why? because you think because I don't run Community caches that mine is irrevelent. Well you might be surprised to hear that about 100 users contacted me after I pulled the plug about my cache so undermine what I'm doing. I really don't know where this goes from here but.. I am considering removing all cache blocks that aren't exactly clear what they even are...

That's your choice but I will hold you responsible for any increase in flooding as I do Sabre, its your own and Merlins selfish choices to operate caches for your small user groups when they could be helping take some of the load from the main users group, this is why we have a system of redundant domains here so anyone thinking of playing god with the users will not be able to, you stating that you shut 100 users from the network is not something to be proud of, I would be ashamed if I did that, and it shows just why I said no one person should be in charge of running the caches or connecting domains and our current system ensures that.

Please don't try to second guess my thoughts as any your ascribing to me are low and petty and thus erroneous, you only needed to grab a blocklist from any of the caches themselves on port 7930, its not exactly a secret list is it, but it is very accurate and has been for a long time now.

Did letting down so many users that I wasn't even aware depended on me give me a thrill? Yeah I was so thrilled I just about fell over. Who the hell do you think you are?

So I'm selfish now because you blocked me from helping with community caches? That's rich.. well I do save personal messages and here is where you clearly turned me down with a brief brush off about trust. I'm done here .. I've been bashed enough for one week. Furthermore I offer my cache to ANYONE that chooses to use it. LOL

I have read your post about the network attacks which I have been keeping up with anyways as I run a cache that uses the same block list, etc. I live in U.S so what can I do to help with this situation. I have talked to Piney about helping with community caches. I have a cache status page for my own personal use .. [link removed, no access I guess]

Please don't give that out as it's only for personal use. So are caches needed? Maybe some new caches from the U.S. would be helpful? I'm always willing to help out as I told Piney but he's said yes and then never set anything up. I'm not the kinda person to sit around, if something needs to be done I get it done now.

So let me know what I can do. Obviously I'm capable of running a cache. I suppose you wouldn't want to use the indexer though. So maybe get one with my ip added. I have a second ip not in use also. All I would need is a little help on setting it up.

If you don't need help then forget this message and let me know if you do in the future. This attack is a good example of when the community should come together to deal with it I think.

My intention is to give you a clean sheet and move on from thier and hopefully in time build some trust that has alwaya been lacking between us, I shall indeed contact you if you can be of asistance and I expect you to do the same with us, a fair exchange is no robbery.

And to think I considered passing you the WCS code when I left to assure it wouldn't end up in the wrong hands. pssh

Well, Raven, you do yourself a disservice.

I thought Ghostship's reply to you was quite reasonable, and if your attitude in the foregoing, and through all this thread is indicative, i can see why the void been you and GS is not oozing with trust.

Time is indeed needed..

Take your code, pssh, if you must, oh, i forgot, it's not yours to keep...

Thank you for finally reinforcing what I was talking about in the 1st place. Trust is a two way street and it's not my code to give out as Mind did the coding. My name has never been on it neither has it been placed on WCS in 4 or 5 places like some.

WCS belongs to the community as the code was posted by KM. I don't care how many users use the fixed version as that was never my goal. I'm not so sure though that WinMX will go on with folks like you advising people and calling misinformed mxhosts "Dummies" but hey you do and say what you think is right.

ummmmmm, since when did i actually call mxhosts Dummies?

i was referring to the greater community, not merely MX hosts, or even MX users or people on the internet...

theres millions of $ been made from a whole series of books written For Dummies...

perhaps tho, there is something there that you can see that i dont...

or....

If The Cap Fits...

Perhaps you need to have a good stiff drink and a GLD...

I dont know why this is still going on. It is clear that he said help is not needed right now. I have talked to him about running a cache too, and he told me "We already have many caches, but if something comes up, I will let you know." Seems like he was saying the same thing, just with a little more.

Trust is very important when handling things like this. Someone on the network that I was close to violated my privacy rights buy embedding a keylogger in something I was testing for him. Yea, it was stupid of me to do. Did I trust him? Yes I did. Lets just say that I will not be trusting him anymore. I do not know if anything happened to make anyone not trust you, and I really dont care what it is.

That wasn't my point.. my point was how i was called "selfish" for not offering to help with caches. Read back fgs. I f you don't care that's fine because i do.

Yes I'm aware of that you were hacked a while back and that outraged me and many others at the time but since this particular issue isn't "about you" and you're the victim this time then I guess you wouldn't care would you.

Actually Raven, I used to care, until people started saying crap like that about me. I dont say one bad thing about anyone on this network, who do people have to do it to me? Seems like a waste of my time.

It is an Indexer "Dummie" .. you see just because some people don't have all the facts doesn't really make them idiots now does it?

Piney was the one that said I would have to use "their caches". Anyhow, I've had enough of this nonsense for one night so maybe if I'm not banned tm, I'll come back and post Pineys convo also..
